It's sad they have to get drunk to even open up and/or talk to a person. Resided in Sweden and they seem like this. Just going on a morning stroll and saying hi to a person you see every morning going for a walk is out of the ordinary.
Yeah it’s a bit weird and seems rather unhealthy.
@@Seanonyoutube well there are some outliers. My wife is from Sweden and she has a very outgoing personality and doesn't need alcohol to talk to people.
I mean, even in more social societies it still helps. Obviously the Northern Europeans take it to the extreme. As someone who comes from the US, there is definitely a capability to socialize without alcohol, but the downside is that much of that talking is just small talk for the sake of making noise. Like it's interesting (and unhealthy in its own way) seeing how horribly uncomfortable people can get here if everyone just sits there in silence, yet people in a country like Finland will just huddle around a fire to drink and merely enjoy each other's physical company / presence.
@@Joe-eg7mlyou know that it is just a stereotype right? Scandinavians live normal life with normal friends just like everyone else.
@@ae-jo5gc I have resided and married a Scandivian. And during my time in Sweden there is some truth to this sterotype of course there are outliers such as my wife . But pretty much everyone keeps to themselves. They don't like small talk. And only time a Norewegian guy was friendly and really talkative was when he was drunk....lol!
Norway. Beautiful country, stunning women but interaction like talking to ChatGPT
😅😅😅
🤔
Italian: rebel kid
Japanese: disciplined kid
Norwegian: alcohol addicted introverted teen
Not at all. Norwegians drink very little alcohol - only 50% of the EU average. We also drink weak beer and spirit with a low alcohol content
@@lpdude2005 But how come everyone in this video keeps talking about getting drunk to socialize? A little bit of alcohol won't get you drunk.
@@Shirumoon Scandinavians (at least Swedes and Norwegians) tend to drink mostly during the weekends. When we actually do drink we do it properly (get wasted) which makes it easier for everyone to socialize. I think that’s why they’re mentioning alcohol so much. It’s basically the easiest and most common way to meet new people here. Although this is almost exclusively during the weekends or the holidays, regular weekdays we barely drink and if we do it’s mostly light stuff which might be the answer to why we statistically drink less than in other cultures where it’s normal to have one glass every day.
@@Shirumoonthey’re lying and being manipulative because they want it to seem like they are perfect and dont like it when anyone makes fun of the perfect narcissistic image of themselves they die to keep.
In reality they say “catch him in the 5th beer to have seggs” so imagine several of the ‘weak’ beers will turn strong on the 6th and he will blackout so no seggs
@@junotraung8547Saying that drinking “properly” is drinking to get wasted just answered any questions we had. Lol.
"People are huging and showing emotions"
😁😁😁 that was funny
So, Norway is a introverts dream come true. 🤣
Or nightmare if you're looking for extraverted people to do the extraverted work for you.
They're narcs
Nope. Just be real. Not shallow and superficial! :)
Denmark ranks the highest in alcohol consumption within the Nordic region with an average 9.1 litres a year.
However, Germany leads ahead among the European countries in terms of overall alcohol consumption with 10.9.
Only because alcohol is cheaper there in comparison. If the cost is the same in Norway, Norwegians are going to drink more!
The guy who identifies as tall is 💥💥💥💥
Didn't you hear him speak about meeting new people? You're gonna need some Preparation H to go along with that tight sphincter.
I am impressed of their English level!!! Bravo!
This is fantastic. Your bubbly personally was the perfect way for me to end my evening on a happy note 😄
Happy to hear 😁
Happy Thursday, Marina! Hope you're having an awesome trip in Norway 🇳🇴. Sending my love from Miami, Florida, USA 🇺🇲
I work 30 meters from that ATM. Cheapest 0,5l beer in that street 😁
As a Mediterrranean from Greece I just can't imagine being unable to open up and be emotionally expressive or intimate unless there is alcohol involved. I would like to see what it is like to communicate and interact with people who are closed like oysters until they drink or pretend they drink alcohol. I never rely on alcohol or depend on it to feel happy and extroverted and be my true self. Our "alcohol" is the sun !😂
I never rely on alcohol, nor do I need to pretend to drink it, to be introverted and not bother the people around me with my crap. We each have our talents.
Thanks for contagious smile and bubbly personality ! Great way to start the day ❤
Best comment ever 😁
What a fabulous video - had be enthralled (and ready to book my ticket to Oslo!).
Ha! who was that random guy in the middle of vid drinking in a snowy frozen lake?!🥶😂 That really made me laugh with how it popped up from nowhere. The alcohol price thing….hmm, idk but it was actually similar seeming to the kind of prices here in US for liquor/wine 🤔 So it didn’t strike me as excessive lol.
He had a youtubechannel where he did stuff like that, but he died in a accident while doing a stunt... think he called himself Ape Tor or Apetor... something like that.
In this channel they have a problem with alcoholism in general, most of videos shows that people need to be drank to have a relationship... but good news for all of you, You can find love or sex without alcohol or other drugs.
Not at all - Norwegians drink very little alcohol - only 50% of the EU average. We also drink weak beer with a low alcohol content
Yes, sure. I'm not talking about Norwegians or any other country. It's just this channel, it's amazing how in most of their videos they show people drinking to get a relationship. @@lpdude2005
@@lpdude2005lol keep comforting yourself
As a Norwegian born and bred, I must say some of this is true, and it is so sad 😔 Even if the video is funny 🙂
Do not worry we Finns are a bit same...Maybe that's why we are neighbors...
I was in Oslo walking down Karl Johan Gate and pretty much no one looks at anyone but this guy was so gorgeous I couldn't help smiling at him. Then he smiled back embarrassed, adorable.
Im Aussie and it sounds like people in Norway and Australia are similar in some aspects. In Anglo and Celtic Australian cultures people rely on alcohol to have fun and open up emotionally. Another similarity is the pressure to appear equal and not stand out too much. Wearing visibly expensive brands or showing off luxury goods can be really frowned upon but at the same time there is a big wealth gap here, its just more hidden. My partner grew up in ankther country and it still shocks me to see him wear luxury brands (he buys them from an outlet) in public as it is considered to be poor taste by the standards of how I grew up.
great interviews Marina. i think its fascinating to learn about nordic peoples habits and way of life ❤ its insane how expensive a normal 0,5 litre 5% alcohol beer is. you can buy a full six pack for the same price in my country😂
So sad that they need a alcohol to start one simple conversation!! 😪 I could never live there !!
My fav Marina and Norwegian people are all in the same videos. Life is good! 😍 Thank you!
Yuck
Everything said in this video applies to us Danish people as well :)
Ohhh yeap! That's true! If you open up they'll do the same, but you need to made the first move... And of course alcohol is the key factor...
No kidding 😂
No one talks to strangers all week but then everyone meets out drinking on fridays and saturdays and we talk to everyone. And the bus seat thing is sp accurate
Andrea is so cool and relax he was really fun to watch
I was born in Minnesota so there was a fairly high number of Norwegian Americans there. They can seem cold, distant, quiet and reserved so I’ve heard people complain about their “lack of friendliness”. There’s a positive flip side to this stereotype though, once they gauge you as trustworthy and that you can mind your own business, they would give you the shirt off their backs. They also tend to be good employees, good neighbors & good bosses.
The apetor clip made me sad... RIP!
that bottle of Bacardi costs 11€ or 12€ in Germany last time I checked. 52$ is crazy
I thought Iceland held the record for STDEE'S Dr and hairdresser same salary... hmmmm
I'm from NY so we're even..
But Norway is still on my list of places to visit.
Q: How do you get a Norwegian friend ?
A: Be rich!
True.
Also a narc, because narcs like other narcs, muslims act like narcs too so they blend in very well and the narc gaslighting and grandiosity are highly interconnected in society
Norway and Sweden are identical in these aspects
For many people, beer, wine,… in moderation, are just beverages,… it's not about mind affectation,… because it's not consumed for mind affectation,… but just as healthy caloric-nutritive beverages,… not for becoming more social. I have a couple or more lite beers or a bit of wine per day,….. along with a prime quality diet. I drink beer and some wine for health optimization. I live a very physically active life, work nearly everday as a landscape contractor.
What I'm hearing is that Norwegians have a drinking problem. Although most countries have a drinking problem. It doesn't seem to occur to anyone that over decades of alcohol consumption their brains and bodies deteriorate considerably. Even small amounts of Alcohol does damage. All because they lack the skills or confidence to talk to humans without drugging themselves up. Despite the fact that these people just laugh about it, it's just sad.
Noruegueses tão precisando pegar o busão no horário de pico numa cidade grande do Brasil, queria ver esse papinho de "espaço pessoal". 🤣🤣🤣
Têm dinheiro que chegue para pagar um táxi 😂
This video is so funny and hilarious
Regarding to the alcohol. My husband is Norwegian and he rarely drinks. In his friends and family circle is not common to drink either. People do drink lots coffee though, I meet up with Norwegian friends over coffee/tea and cakes(home baked of course).... I don't feel people need alcohol to speak to. Maybe to have small talks with a complete stranger, perhaps it is not their thing, but if you are in work place, your friends circle, or you are in a hobby club, society, etc you just talk with people like anywhere else. Norwegians are very easy going, friendly and fun. They are easier to get along with than the Swedes and Danes in my opinion, perhaps because they have less population, and the oil money make their society less competitive, everyone is just chill and at peace.
I miss Apetor so much 😪
Another banger! I am a big fan, and even bigger fan when you are in norway ;) It's also fun to see other norwegians reflect on the norwegian culture. Especially when half of them are drunk!
Also, I always want more norwegian dating beyond borders!
Thanks!
Antisocial- Goes against the social norm or laws because of hate towards society and people in general (misanthropy). Characterized by sociopathy and psychopathy, mental disorder found mostly in dictators and can affect both extroverts and introverts.
Asocial- Preference for solitude despite belonging to a social group, does not hate society nor the social norms found in it. The majority are introverts.
Just a small clarification.
I met the creator of this vid at a party in Toronto. I was like hey you look familiar? hahaha
Haha 😆
The guy at 1:50 reminds me of Alesso for some reason 😅
Looks like Seattle to me. Got the same climate and same culture. Seattle is full of people with Scandinavian heritage.
I'm a Brit (the non-drinking type). So it sort of sounds like I'd struggle somewhat to befriend a Norwegian in Norway, especially as I don't really drink. XD
Pretty rare to meet another Brit who doesn’t drink.
Well I am not brit and I don’t drink… it is pretty hard to find someone who does not drink😅😂
Finally a none norwegian interviewing norwegians
Note to self: Never move to Norway.
Think. I am part Norwegian than 😂 trying to keep drinking to once a week instead of everyday😅😅😅
Took an ancestry test and it confirmed I'm like 45% Norwegian and this makes me proud to be an introvert. I grew up with a lot of Norwegian traditions and I'm excited to continue them. Unsure if I can drink this much (nor should I).
I’m bringing my openess and big personality to Oslo you nords better be ready for a new friend
They don't want you

Enhorabuena por el video Marina ¿ Qué crees tú que otras culturas podríamos aprender de la forma en la que los Noruegos viven sus relaciones y su sexualidad?
honest people
Most Northern Europeans are the same
Great, so now I know why I have social anxiety and come from a family of alcoholics 😂
If any one meets hendrix 'who's mum works for immigration ...' ps direct him to me .. 'I lost contact after giving him a drive to colombo from the south of sri lanka ...'back in the year 2000..
I think ...
While all of this is true, it's not really either. I would say true enough to justify the funny stereotype, but reality is much more a grey zone. But, most of us wont be the up in your face intruding on your personal space type of person, but we're still mostly open to people who reach out and care for others, but we wont easily let them in to the friend zone either, as this is more precious.
How could I know girls of which country find me top attractive?!
@ 7:01…. uh oh
8:09 I wonder if luxury designer brands like Hermes etc do well there? What brands are the best selling?
Norwegian dudes must be like raj from Big Bang theory 😂
7:22 is that true?
What if I don't drink alcohol?
Maria from Canada? okkaay
Norwegians are super nice people…you just need to get to know them. And most are not big on superficiality, so that is why sone may find them a bit closed. They just don’t waste their time with that BS.
Hello
Id say dont waste time on their narcissistic bs.
You get sucked coz of their need for attention and die to rot if you are an empath. They like preying on the weak for their supply( positive or negative)
Not everyone in Norway drink alcohol.
We can have fun and socialize without it, we just don't walk up to strangers and begin talking with them out of nowhere.
I would describe most of Norwegians as “super sweet and naive little kids that are also a bit…neurospicy”.
This video makes it seem like stereotypes are true of everyone? Aren't there Norwegians who don't meet the stereotype? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
they are like Swiss people :-D
Norwegians aren't cold. Their around 37°C...
50 dólares por un bacacho? 🤢🤢 Es tan feo ese alcohol que se aseguran de ponerlo caro para que nadie lo compre :v
Norwegians drink very little alcohol - only 50% of the EU average. We also drink weak beer with a low alcohol content.
Hahaha, yeah of course, that’s why you have all those restrictions on alcohol 🤣🤣🤣.
You can’t buy hard alcohol in regular stores, can’t buy alcohol in stores on Sunday, on Saturday no alcohol after 06:00 pm, weekdays after 08:00 pm. Vinmonoppolet is working from 10am - 06pm, on Saturday 10am - 04pm.
In bars they have bartenders and security that needs to tell you when to stop drinking or force you to drink water or they kick you out ect.
Yeah, you don’t drink too much 🤣🤣🤣, you definitely know how to drink and behave when drunk 🤣🤣🤣.
You’re funny dude 🤣🤣🤣.
Marina, given the current situation with the actors' and writers' strike in the US, which highlights the problem of monetizing your content creation, I would like to ask you : how much money do you make from this channel ? The views are not that many, the content contributors appear to be many meaning any revenue has to be divided, and I don't see any other ways to make money. So how does this operation work ? Is it over for anyone who wants to make money ?
What if someone has an autoimmune disease like me and cannot drink? No friends? No life? This is really really fucked in Norway, so sad. Depressing.
Yeah, I wonder if they have issues with loneliness on a larger scale. Or if they're average.
@@Shirumoonthey are beyond lonely and depressed but they kind of get used to it
Yeah, what about suicides that it’s forbidden to talk?
Don’t think they get used to it.
Why are norwegians introverts?
Good video , completely true in every point, in other hand they are people we can learn to much. Maybe If they are like that is because the system
That's actually kind of sad...
Alcohol seems to fix shyness for every culture. It’s universally used as an excuse to open up. I find tall blondes attractive from the Nordic counties but that std comment was a huge turn off.
En France y a les pire alcoolique du monde ! Just visit and see 😂😂
O wouldnt say they dont like people Butany people are obtuse, and Disrespectful,So wait till they are around for a while and see If they are people of a good Character, they may be arse
Great.......
Hi
That was very awkward and cringeworthy to watch.
It seems a really boring country
What happen with these Aryan people
I mean a doctor And hairdresser salary same
Wtf is this?
This is not equality, this is u justice to their profession,
A doctor takes almost 10 years to become a doctor with High stressful study
A hairdresser who any one can become without even study
Just high school student
Earning equal
Pay structure is best in Usa
By giving equal salary doesn't make it sense of equality.
Every profession has its hierarchy.
One word: narcissistic
Why would you say that?
