im absolutely obsessed with this song and i love the extended part of the chorus so much however i thought it would be fitting to put that part in the final chorus in order to make it more sentimental.
also the media i chose for this was the main character of perfect blue. a phenomenal movie that delves into the toxic and harmful parts of the entertainment industry. the main character, Mima, is a pop singer that is pushed into entering the acting industry to become more famous and successful. despite the fact that she doesn’t want to, she ends up accepting the deal and becoming an actress. right off the bat, she gets pushed into doing sexual work even while being uncomfortable with it. she hates it but she continues to accept doing such work because she believes it is what’s best for her. the whole movie encapsulates her wish of wanting to continue doing music instead of acting, whilst navigating the horrific aspects of the entertainment industry. this is a terrible recap of the movie but when i listened to dreaming girl, i kinda immediately thought of perfect blue. anyways, i sincerely suggest you check out this movie !
