I can relate to this. I was a 17 year old with no responsibility, just go to college and go home, the time in-between was mine. I travelled Skyrim, among other places. Now in 2023 I'm a 28 year old father to 2 daughters. The responsibility of the world on my shoulders, yet I can still go back in time just by listening to the soundtrack and feel weightless again.

It took me awhile but I now realize that the tale was told through the names of the soundtracks 😂 great video man loved all of it ( 1:49:49 that made me jump a little tho 😂)
This is awesome. Thank you for putting it together. I'd say it brings back memories, but in truth they are very recent memories! After playing Morrowind and Oblivion, I bought Skyrim the day it came out, and I've been playing it off and on since. In my opinion, no game has yet to catch the pure magical feeling one gets wandering off the beaten path in Skyrim. No matter how many new games I start, or even finish, I always come back to Mother Skyrim. It's the closest I've ever been to actually leaving this world and being part of another. It's been almost 12 years now, and if I take an honest look at myself, it'll probably be at least good for another 12.
My theory is that Lorkhan is the player. Or, so to say, Lorkhan is the player character. You can sit in Shor's seat in Sovengarde, no? And Talos's blessing in Skyrim is one that applies exclusively to the Dragonborn. I always assumed that Talos was basically an early incarnation of the player character. Each time you venture into one of the games, you are more or less the same person. Yet you drive the plot in a basically passive world of non-player characters. When you turn off the game, you turn off the world that all of its inhabitants live in--essentially making you the absolute negation of the world of the Elder Scrolls. I was struck by the theory about Talos being three characters in one. Maybe that represents the diversity of ways to play the game--like dragon breaks, a way to retcon whatever you want into the game. As if the player character were a mage, a thief, and a warrior, every time you enter the world, or in other words, every incarnation of Lorkhan. By the end of every game, you are essentially godly compared to everyone around you.
I love how the comment section is filled with positivity and good vibes. Everyone is struggling here but we're all together here, safe. This feels like one well-knit family :)) Good Wishes to all, May you all make it big!
There’s no better music to play walking in the woods or camping then Skyrim music anything outdoors just add Skyrim music and it instantly will transport you into a world unlike any you been to before truly a masterpiece of a game forever live skyrim

The thing is even though TES V is "the game that never ages", it must age at some point. But the soundtrack and the emotions it provided do not outdate or grow old or. The implicit knowledge that these careless times of exploring Skyrim and experiencing feelings of awe and astonishment, of freedom, adventure and everything else are long gone - it contradicts the instant and vivid rising of all these feelings as soon as the music is heard, even if it´s been many years since the actual experience. And so listening to this is always somewhat bittersweet. Nostalgia can be a trap, but it can also be a haven and source of inspiration. Skyrim produces it unlike any other game i´ve played

Wow. This music gives me goosebumps and I feel tears in my eyes. I've never played Skyrim and had no idea it was so BEAUTIFUL. I was a hardcore WoW player and always thought this was just a kinda clone. Now I must enter this gorgeous world, just to go exploring! Any suggestions on which edition/platform would be the best entry point? I'm a Mac person, but honestly if the game is this beautiful, I would consider investing in a console if that's gonna give me the best experience/graphics. I could also emulate a PC on the Mac.
Well the Anniversary edition seems to be the way to go as it is the latest rerelase containing all the dlc as well. That said keep in mind that Skyrim itself is a singleplayer experience (there is multiplayer available but only as a mod, so it does get rather buggy). If you are looking for multiplayer experience then Elder Scrolls Online is what you are looking for, but that did not really cut it for me, the bussiness model being one of the reasons why.
@@Sachy_ Thanks. At the point in my life, singleplayer is probably an advantage. Just need a place to relax and explore, and this gameworld looks sooooo beautiful.

Witcher 3 and skyrim have been apart of my life for so long especially Skyrim you can lose yourself and become so immersed in s peacefully yet conflicting world god the beauty in it all its etched into my mind reminding me of a simplar time when the world was lest painful and full of awe
I could have had a house, a car and a wife by now. About 10 years ago, I was so absorbed in virtual worlds like Skyrim (1000+ hours) that I ignored "real life", enough to miss out on certain things. Today though, I can borrow a car if I really need one. I do have a roof over my head. Now, internet is not free, but the horn pub is! The music of this game is what Elvis is to my folks.😂❤
The secret to a better self/life is everywhere in the mind, and in the matter, and its the position in both that results to a truer form of life/self; it is in the start of every moment, a reason to be better for the next
I realize that this is meant to be relaxing, but it'd be hilarious if you put a combat soundtrack in the middle along with the ambience of being attacked by a mudcrab.
turning off all HUD elements while making my way through the world made this game feel brand new. no checking the map, no health/stamina/magic indicators other than the screen reddening, heavy breathing, and failed spell animations. no mods either just plain ol PS3 skyrim and it's still fun warts and all.

Bethesda has recently earned themselves many haters for their casual approach to dialogue and player choice: But they are indisputably the king at ambiance, and immersion.
Now that I modded skyrim se I can tell how big the difference is with vanilla. Vanilla lightning, landscapes, colors, flora, textures just feel so underwhelming. If you disagree try some mods, you only need about 20 to make skyrim look like a completely different game. Most people who support vanilla do it for the nostalgia.
This music is what calm feels like; by calm I mean stillness and quietitude all around you, this music in your headphones, a cloudy sky outisde the window on your side, all this while reading a great book. This, for me, is pure meditation and reverence for your soul and your inner demon, which you need to protect from outern shocks, and pay attention to, otherwise it will overtake you, with laziness and hedonism. If you will be weak, it will manipulate you and lead you to misery and squalor; but if you are strong, He will know that you are not defeatable, in that moment, and it will let you pass on His side. That Demon always holds the knife: you will never hold it. What you can do is put yourself behind the Demon, letting it guide and protect you, instead of putting yourself in front of it, free to be stabbed.

me at first...
same
Skyrim was my first intro to an rpg and it was possibly the best intro one could ask for .
It took me awhile but I now realize that the tale was told through the names of the soundtracks 😂 great video man loved all of it ( 1:49:49 that made me jump a little tho 😂)
holy shit yes O_O how cool is that?
almost like you were *caught off guard*
Don’t forget to check out the sources in the description! Couldn’t have done it without them
My theory is that Lorkhan is the player.
This feels like one well-knit family :))
Good Wishes to all, May you all make it big!
@meditationrelaxingmusic-4K - What a beautiful comment. God Bless you

Magical OST! Thank you Jeremy Soule - traveling without moving!
I'm in love with Jeremy Soule . Great game and wonderful music. Thanks a lot..

I religiously played Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask growing up. Now that I am 48 I Skyrim has been my Zelda adventure since it came out. I will never get tired of it or the music. Skyrim is my go to when life is just to much.
Kynes Peace is my favorite composition. From Past to Present is my next fav❤❤ Dragons blessing to all you Dragonborns out there!🤗🤗
This was uploaded the day before my 30th birthday… righteous.
Love the scenes, adds to the immersion.
Happy belated birthday Dragonborn!
I jusk celebrated my 30th birthday yesterday and now I am going to start skyrim up again. It just gives me such a feeling of freedom and adventure!
Happy birthday and have a lovely day friend ☀️

shoutouts to all my 93' people, I'll be 30 next month. Crazy that it's already been 12 years since this gem of a game dropped, the year we officially became adults :)

From across the pond, wishing you well from the US.
Once I was trekking up a volcano and I really felt that I was trekking through Skyrim, the fog, mountains, towering trees and verdant grass all looked so alike.
1:53:36 Sovngarde gave me "we're in the endgame now" vibes for sure when I first heard it on my way to go face Alduin

Awesome frame composition choices, I gotta say
One of the few games I ever enjoyed. I have played it multiple times, and it feels still like the first time doing so. The ambiance is magnificent. One of the best soundtracks ever.
I was mesmerised when I first heard "From Past to Present" in the Skyrim trailer around 12-13 years ago. I still wonder how that many years passed by like it was nothing. Feels like fucking yesterday. Time flies - fast...

I’ve never played this or heard about it before , it was in my recommended and I’m glad I checked it out
You have something I wish I still had - the ability to play TES V for the first time in your life.
How I wish I could go back in time and play this with no recollection of it. I really can't put into words what the game means to me and to so many people, but as you can see in this comment section, it's something that we carry with us, even without playing it.
What are you waiting for? The Jerall Mountains are calling you!

I'm in love with Jeremy Soule 😭😭😭

I realize that this is meant to be relaxing, but it'd be hilarious if you put a combat soundtrack in the middle along with the ambience of being attacked by a mudcrab.
Where is the location shown during standing stones (1:32:20) is it sovngarde?

@@AUgold404 Sure!
turning off all HUD elements while making my way through the world made this game feel brand new. no checking the map, no health/stamina/magic indicators other than the screen reddening, heavy breathing, and failed spell animations. no mods either just plain ol PS3 skyrim and it's still fun warts and all.
Anyone here play Elder scrolls online? Skyrim has always been a big part of getting me into fantasy games like this.

You should be able to, click the “Save” button and add it to the preferred playlist.
Bethesda has recently earned themselves many haters for their casual approach to dialogue and player choice:
But they are indisputably the king at ambiance, and immersion.
Streets of Whiterun 🤤
It may be the worst TES for story bad RPG systems... but the music and the ambience is top noch, one of the best games ever for sure thanks to that.
Bethesda itself will never be able to bring another game like Skyrim.

Why the hell doesn't ubi or ea or any other AAA studio put more effort into creating music like this ? It's such a big deal in these types of games..
Is anyone interested in helping me write a Fantasy Novel?
Such a boring game but the music and environment were good for their time.
