The name of the singer who sang this original song from Mehmood Khan is Nandini Srikar and she was good. The video was shot on a shoestring budget and I remember it like it was yesterday and with good reason. I produced the video for just Rs 50,000 back in 1999 and I spent a week on the Mumbai-Pune expressway assisting the shoot. It was shot on just a SONY handicam by the director of the video Mathew M.C.
He had a keen eye for bizarre visuals and great editing skills. Of course I will be partial and say that the Nandini song as well as the video was better than the one by Fariha Pervez but that would only be natural though Fariha is a stunning woman. This was the last video that was made by Magnasound and I remember Shashi Gopal giving me the money to shoot it. A lot of people gave freely of their time and effort.
The song by Nandini Srikar is still on RUclips but with very few views. Nobody knows it and it was never promoted. I recommend it to people with a ear for nuanced singing. Recently Nandini featured on a music video along with Arijit Singh on a song titled 'Dua'.
We have great memories of the original song.

I first listen Nandini song then listen this one. Good to see your pain you feel the pain of Pakistani artists whose song india paligarised in their bollywood movies. It's good to stick to original.
