This song was actually made to honor the death of a Make a Wish kid whose wish was to see Imagine Dragons who later passed away due to his cancer. They attended his funeral and later made this song to honor him, the song is partially about cancer and how badly it can affect people, and how it can make you not want people to be around you out of fear that if you die it’ll make those people sad.
I already loved this song, but I love it even more after knowing the story behind this song. It’s amazing how much Imagine Dragons cares about their fans, I’m sure that boy would be so happy to know this song was made in his honor 💖
