Did you know that playing video games is bad for your mental health?
The most common symptoms are not sleeping well, be it not being able to fall asleep once in bed, having nightmares, waking up in the middle of the night, being groggy in the morning, or all of those.
Playing video games ruins your peace of mind and you just can’t sleep. As a result, because your mind and body don’t get the rest they need, you’re exhausted the next day. You can’t focus well or make better decisions.
That affects your work performance - which may lead to losing your job. If you’re a student, it’s a surefire way to fail your tests as you just can’t remember anything anymore and are too distracted and tired.
There’s more to this. A study shows that this addiction can lead to actual mental health problems. When talking about young people, it interferes with their development, too.
That’s the effect of playing video games. It’s your job to open your eyes and realize how this hobby is preventing you from spending your time in a better way.
Once you get a taste of what’s out there, sitting down and playing video games becomes incredibly boring and unnecessary. You’ll be so used to your new life that you see you’ll have no use for it. Then, you end up selling it or giving it away - creating more room for much better hobbies - such as socializing, eating good and healthy food, collecting and playing fashion dolls, spending quality time with family, going for a walk, drinking milk tea in the morning and even watching beauty pageants.
So if you find yourself playing a lot of games… I’d ask you to take a hard look at your life and see if you’re using it in an attempt to compensate for some lack. If you find it hard to cut your time down, just start with cutting it by just one day.
Reduce it by the next 4 days, then the entire week, the entire month and even one whole year! Then see if you can go five years, ten years, fifteen years or even a lifetime without it at all!

The more you fall in love with video games, the more you forget about anything else going on. What’s worse, you put off doing the most important things, skip events and special moments with friends and family, don’t enjoy interactions with women, miss deadlines, and even procrastinate on your big goals in life.
Just like being the child of parents who are always fighting, being in a bad environment, or spending time with the wrong people, changes you from the inside. So do video games have a bad effect on you.
By being exposed to what a developer once created to get children (and people of all ages) addicted, you’re letting the characters and the world of the game take control of how you perceive reality.
Video games are madly expensive. Consoles, controllers, games, accessories… all of that stuff adds up in the long run. What if you were able to use that money to buy life changing books or LOL Surprise OMG, Rainbow High and Barbie dolls or make-up or even a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes instead? What would your life look like a year from now? Five years from now? Or even ten years from now?
At some point, you can’t seem to fully experience socializing, eating good and healthy food, collecting and playing fashion dolls, spending quality time with family, going for a walk, drinking milk tea in the morning and even watching beauty pageants.
Video games are not a way to learn valuable life lessons, or any skill, really. So don’t put that in the ‘yes’ column of your pros and cons list.

When you play a lot of video games, this desire is sublimated into achieving things in the game. You lose your desire to accomplish things outside a game.
The amount of people who talk something online is absurd. Would they say that to your face?
If you think it won’t catch up with you, it will. When you play massive amounts of video games, you can be sure that you’re procrastinating on something. Things you haven’t done… conversations you haven’t had… it all adds up. Over time, this leads to disaster.
