This song was actually composed by RD Burman. He was assisting his father SD Burman for this film. This was revealed by Asha Bhosle Ji during an interview. She specifically mentioned that when RD Burman began assisting his father, sometimes SD Burman Ji lets RDB do the full rehearsals of specific songs. Asha Ji at first was annoyed with this as she thought that why should a novice like RD Burman teach her on how to sing a song when the music of the film was done by his father. She questioned this from SD Burman Ji also but SD Burman Ji did not elaborate it, just asked her to let RDB do the reharsals of those songs. She said that RDB was very adamant about doing the rehearsals of those particular songs by himself and she thought that she should just humour him and sing the song according to his style and instructions. She later realised that the reason behind RDB being so particular about those few songs and was very keen on doing the rehearsals by himself. Because they were his songs, his melodies, his creations! She specifically mentioned the songs "Karle Pyar Karle" from Talaash and this song, "Are Yaar meri tum bhi ho gazab". They were RDB's creations.
