Great episode! Still think Mario’s a little too pessimistic (I get why), but Mario is a staple of optimism, while Luigi is usually one to say “oh no…” Example is Luigi’s Mansion 3, especially the ending with Mario! BUT I do really like how you recognize Luigi’s intelligence.
I mean people can change over time and maybe Mario became more optimistic/friendly when he grews up?
I dont know i kindna like it that Mario have a bit of a different character here^^
Teenagers are known for being moody. Maybe Mario will grow into his optimism.
I’m guessing they might be basing Mario on the Super Mario Bros Super Show Mario, he was a bit pessimistic and gruffer than Nintendo’s Mario. But idk.
I think it has something to do with trauma.
They've been seeding out that the Bro's parents aren't really in the picture, who knows for how long.
For the time being, it's my theory that Mario basically assigned himself as Luigi's caretaker, despite being the same age. But he was so so devoted to keeping Luigi happy, he sacrificed his own happiness, becoming jaded and afraid of being vulnerable.
If Samus is a teenager does that mean she's still living with her chozo bird dads?
She could be at least on her sophomore year, so chances are they either are still alive or dead.

Then at the end Falco never shows up, (cause he's a jerk in this world) and Mario gets the dance anyway. Perfect ending!

It has many references like the soccer ball was a from Mario strikers charged and the hand's desk was big battlefield and more
Took an interesting turn with the voices, character designs, and interpretations. Made the mario brothers feel more fitting in this take on the Nintendo universe. The writing was better paced, the jokes, while not always landing, were timed well, and the characters actually felt more fleshed out and once again fitting with the developing world. Still a bit awkward and clunky, but this episode felt more as though it was intentional. On an unrelated sidenote, there were more references and visual gags which gave the episode a nice sense of tongue and cheek humor along with consistent flow. A solid 6.5/10, can't wait to see it progress further.

This is honestly so good. One suggestion is to make crossover characters that Nintendo had partnered with (like Sonic or PAC-Man) foreign exchange students.
Well, Episode 1 had a Cactuar from Final Fantasy (Square Enix on Mario Hoops 3 on 3, Mario Sports Mix, and SMRPG) and Blue from Bomberman (Hudson Soft on Mario Party and Wario Blast, Konami on Super Bomberman R back when it was exclusive to the Nintendo Switch).
Edit: There's also the Jiggy from the Banjo games, despite being Microsoft property.

I kinda wanna see more characters fight in future episodes, it seems they all have their game powers and it’d be interesting to see how they all work in this world. I’m sure we will see that soon though. Fantastic series so far, the character interactions and the character choices themselves are brilliant, I can’t wait for the next one.
This reminds me of my old drawing in 2017 of a Nintendo high school idea I had, it’s great to see it come to life by you guys, an absolute masterpiece!

Everyone fits their roles so perfectly. My personal favorites are Fox and Zelda rn. (And poor Toad can't catch a break. He never can.)
This is so well thought out, the voice acting is great, the art is great, and I really can't wait to see who else will appear and where the series goes. The references are great too, such as having the lockers be Game Boys, Luigi's locker combination being the year when Super Mario Bros released, the history of Hyrule (with Impa as the teacher), and so many more. I can't get enough of this series and I hope it keeps going and getting better.

At 2:06, there's a statue behind Mr. Hand that looks like Mario from the games, but it can't be him, so it must be a statue of their dad(which could be perfectly fine/reasonable if he went to Nintendo High). Next to the statue there's a book, "trophification", and it's how to turn something into a trophy!!! (also to see it you have to time it perfectly)

As a guy who's old enough to remember the days when Toad was actually one of the best characters in all of Nintendo, I gotta say that it does annoy me to see him get treated like shit here. Although it is clearly the modern version of Toad, so it makes sense I guess.
