I've never read a book so fast! ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU Learning about his dogs and experiences was just the icing on the cake - bed this book through and through. We're working with our new pup and Brandon's advise was just what I needed. Wish he'd just come and train for me haha but it's good for us and happy to have this new set of tools to use on our pup.

I'm so glad you're doing these series. So many videos on other channels are with already well trained dogs or ones without trauma histories and it just makes it so difficult to try and replicate the training with a larger dog that's been rescued and has never experienced a loving home. This series has been super helpful, especially since you fully show all the “bad” things that can happen. I have a 1yr highly reactive golden named Oliver and seeing how you handle Chop’s reactivity has been really helpful and honestly extremely comforting to see other people (especially professional dog trainers) struggle with this! I started watching Inertia’s series as well and it’s cool to see how her behavior has transformed to what it is today! I love how you always advocate for the dogs and their past trauma or explain why they behave how they behave. so many people are so quick to throw on an e-collar and “magically” see the issues disappear. I love how you show how effective positive reinforcement is, and how we as viewers can see it! I know e-collars/herms can be helpful and even necessary with some dogs, but it doesn’t hurt to try positive reinforcement and bonding with your dog first!! Thank you for spreading such positive education in the dog training community and helping people understand how dogs behave and how we can help them become the best they can be when fitting in with humans!! Love you both so much, you are such an adorable couple and your love for dogs is inspiring!!! Very exciting hearing Chops breed breakdown!! What dna service do you use?

He seems like a dog with a lot of energy and drive. I feel that doing sports or working him could benifit, like maybe dock diving if he likes water or fly ball, lure coursing too, or even sledding. He seems more so independent (having husky in him lol) but still eager to please and seems to grasp very well what he needs to do for a treat or praise.
With that extra mental stimulation and excerise it could also help with training as well.
I really wish I could adopt chop, I've watched all the videos you've made on him and I just adore his personality and his intelligence 💗

I really appreciate how you talk about Chop and Inertia’s interactions every episode in some way. This is so helpful, if family or friends bring their dog over, I have little tips to what we should do or even adding a second dog to the home. I also really like the way the Chop series has been organized, it seems like you have edited so there is one primary concern in each episode. While I adored the George series, I may find myself being able to reference an individual episode in this series easier.

I've been really appreciative of this channel as of late. I just recently discovered it and I can't wait to see more from this current series. I've recently taken on a rescue dog who was homeless on the streets. She's fairly well behaved indoors and gets along with my older dog aside from him getting a little aggressive over food or chews. Walking them together on a leash though has been rough. My oldest doesn't like other dogs much so we've usually kept a safe distance but with her happy energy trying to rush dogs, it makes him try to pull to them as well but he's way more nervous. Every day is a learning experience with these two.

My dog is close to 100 pounds at 6 months (no, not overweight) and he has jumping and biting problems which are way more dangerous with his big size. These videos are really helping so thank you! (Some more dared biting and jumping training videos would be nice if your not busy but no rush!) 🙂

Wot, no Malamute?! That was a shocker! His very size, let alone his look made me think a big hunk of Malamute was in there. But Labs are lovely, so that was a bonus ... and very trainable and people-pleasing ... result! :)

We have a rescue dog we did a dna test on and the lesson I learned? As long as our Siggi is 100% dog…I’m happy. But it’s fun to know and I’m glad you gave him a second chance!

Oh god!!! Really love your videos! Here in Portugal no one ever requests the DNA tests but, surely, can be a powerful help to understand some behaviors from our super mutts!!! Thank you for the super series of reality dog training!

I have always held bones for my pups while they are growing up, mostly because i want to teach them to chew thoroughly (raw) but also that they are used to me holding their bone and being close. We do still have mild guarding between the dogs with higher value bones as opposed to the “boring” kind.

Lab is a complete surprise. I suspected GSD, but I have 2, 1 full and 1 mix. They’re always suspect. If I was picking a northern breed I would have said malamute too.

You guys did such an amazing job on the new dog. My friend’s Malamute has dog-v-dog resource aggression. I assume this can only be fixed if I had another dog to show them it’s more fun to share with another dog?

Well, I'm glad the snap at Inertia was the one early on in their relationship and that he was in his crate. They look like they're great playmates now. And Labrador Retriever? Seriously? I did not see that coming.

Not surprised by the main mix, the floppy rounded ears had to come from somewhere and all of the breeds for his other characteristics are pointy-eared.

I love the series 💕 and it’s so great to see Chops grow in confidence 🥰
Do you have any advice for resource guarding amongst dogs? My foster now adopted staffyXlab still resource guards from my Sheltie, after 1yr and 7months, we literally can’t have anything out that he won’t allow her to have. She can’t play with anything without him getting upset and taking it from her, sometimes politely but mostly through bullying tactics. I’m struggling to find things to help them bond better over objects and him not have to feel worried about her having something. This is definitely a past trauma response for him and he has come so far, this is my latest project, to tackle this issue and get him more comfortable, any tips would be amazing 💕
    Thanks

Set boundaries for the dog and clearly communicate in a manner the dog understands when he steps over the boundaries. Reward when the desired behavior is offered. Very simple animal behavior.

Hi Zak I’m actually re watching this for the who knows what time love your videos especially George and Chop. I’m from Australia and have recently come across Bark toys at our local supermarket they are the only plush toys that have lasted more than a few minutes with my Labrador now every new toy that becomes available I buy wish I could used some of your Bark Box offers but was told they are only available for American customers hopefully down the track you have something available for your foreign followers

When my Jasper was only 2 (and the best behaved dog ever) I was asked to rescue a 6 year old cross breed Irish Wolfhound x Welsh sheepdog, so of course I did. She was terrible for resource guarding. Much worse than Chop. Poor Jasper was being attacked all the time and he never retaliated. Like I said I had trained him very well and he has a talent for Calming Signals. So we had to teach Bryn a new game called Sharing. The dogs got quite fat for a while but Jasper and I won and Bryn became a lovely dog.
I had a lot longer to achieve good results than Zak does of course!

I absolutely LOVE Irish Wolfhounds!! We used to always have two or three Wolfhounds at our house. As we've gotten older, though, we switched from bigger to smaller dogs. Still miss my Irish Wolfhounds.
