Seems a winning record is more important then a coach that claims to be a good recruiter. Next year is Billy's senior year... where is his stud juniors ready to tear it up next year... seems keeping Billy trashes this recruiting year and next. It appears that Billy and Stricklin's plan this year is to go full FSU and spend buy out money (not all because all SS cares about is buildings) on the portal... the recruiting class is underwhelming as this years record
The statement that they have all the :buyout $$" they can now take and use for portal purposes doesn't smell right. It was raised by specific donors for a specific purpose....to pay Billy to go away. First, I cant even imaging the conversation where SS tells these donors, he is taking their millions but instead of using it for the designated purpose, he is giving it to coach they want gone as some sort of job saving slushfund. The hubris there is staggering. That is punching your boosters in the mouth and spitting on them all at the same time. Second, the UAA can not be affiliated with collective so if the buyout $$ is at the UAA, it cant just be wired over to the collective. It would have to be returned to the donors and the redeposited with the collective. I can only image the conversations SS is having to make all that happen. Odds are that $$ will stay with the UAA and be put to their purposes and then SS told the donors to give more $$ to the collective for NIL. Giving the fact that the boosters are done with Billy, I just don't see them tolerating this level of insult.
