Thank you for this. My dad moved our family to hawaii from korea when i was five. He worked from 5 pm to 2 am so i never saw him for too long on the weekdays while school was in session. Everything he did was for our family to have a better life. What Steven is saying is so true. RIP Daddy 💕 I wish he was still here to see my baby girl. I’m sure a lot of daughters say this, but my dad really was the best dad in the world 😁

Such honest film. Honesty is difficult to extract within our social norms sometimes.

Yesssss! Thank you for this. We are making an independent film right now in prepro. It's a hard story based on true life of Japanese American farmers in the 1940's. I appreciate you doing this interview. It gives us hope out here in the Indie world. Love Minari so much! "The deep humanity of what these people are trying to do!" I am rewriting as you speak.

I’d like to see your movie when you’re done. I want my parents to see it too. How will we know about it when it’s ready.

From walking dead to this one. He is truly a gem of a person which transcends in his acting. Korean film industry is a force to reckon with.

Oh wow. We didn’t need to tell their sufferings to justify our parents’ existence. They had every right to be here in a new country.
Yes it is a step forward! It’s true progressiveness. We should be able to own our presence in the world unapologetically as much as anyone else.

He described it. It was a narration about what immigrant children would love to tell their parents. It was cut out because they felt that, the existence of the immigrant parents who went through such hardship, doesn't need to be justified
