Gannett Peak: Summiting Wyoming's Tallest Peak in a Day

- WannaBe Pro is joined by Stas on a last minute, last weekend before snow attempt to summit Gannett Peak in the Wind River Range. In true WannaBe pro fashion, Stas has never used an ice axe, Jacob buys a Garmin InReach the day of, and several friends are telling Jacob it's too late in the season. Will the myriad of obstacles, including infinite boulders, snow, bushwhacking, remoteness or dark prevent WannaBe Pro from standing 20 feet higher than the Grand Teton? Or will the Wind Rivers finally give up its crown jewel? Watch to find out!

From a 67 year old who's climbed Gannett--pretty balsy to do this so late in the season with such little light. Well thought out, well planned. You guys know your stuff and are fit enough to pull it off. Congrats!
I appreciate the support!
Late season, good weather window, very efficient movement. Nice job!
Great job.I tried it solo same route ten years ago. One of very few mountains that I did not make the summit.😢 Came across a mountain lion sitting 4 to 6 feet off the trail at 2 am a few miles from the parking lot. Had its back to the water. I probably should have freaked out.But I was too damn tired to care. I definitely need to go back and try it again. Great vid👍
Great adventure!
Wow. Pretty amazing to do that without light for parts of it not on trail. 👍👍👍. New Sub. 👍
Just got back from the winds but stayed under 12,500. Great vid!
Ballers! Super solid adventure day!
Thanks Andrew! Gotta link up for some AZ adventures soon!
Let’s do it!
Fricking beautiful, but definitely ballsy. Kudos gents
Thanks!
Bleached Jake is Ustoppable in the Mountains, sick vid
Unstoppabllleeeeee!!!!
Great work. Did you end up using crampons or microspikes?
Nope!
awesome job dude! I do a lot of the hardest day hikes in the US and this is on my list for next summer. I might pick your brain on it as the time approaches as i would do that same route. I have a lot of videos up on my channel if you're looking for good hikes!
for sure! let me know if you have qs!
This is first video I’ve seen from you guys, straight up ripping off mediocre amateur and I’m all for it!
Freaking love this content, awesome adventure and video! Keep it up will be binging your stuff for the next few days
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! Really glad you enjoyed!
Beasts. Finally another channel as good as mediocre amateur!
haha I'm trying to follow in the MA footsteps as well with my content!

We attempted this route in 9/22 but got rained out. Want to go back but haven't scheduled it yet. The last section to the summit looks steep and "spicy", how dangerous is it?
I would say that without snow, it would be a pretty easy class 3.5 scramble. With snow, it was definitely a bit spicy which is why we chose to come down another way.
Have you been to the highest points in any other states?
I'm the compatriot in video, I've been to 7 others if my count is right. None of the others have been particularly difficult, though Ohio was pretty lame
Great video, guys! I don’t care one bit that you’ve borrowed the Mediocre Amateur recipe…. Keep them coming. Missing just one thing- a dude that barfs when he pushes hard!
Thanks! We can make that happen
AKA : Mediocre Amateur light
Is a light medicore just a rookie pro?

haha that's what I'm trying to be too!
If you’re gonna blatently rip off Mediocre Amateur with your name and try to leech their audience, at least try to make the content better. Cheap and lazy strategy 👎
Once my new video of the Eastern Suggondeez Range comes out I bet you'll think differently
The glazing is crazzyyy
