  • WannaBe Pro is joined by Stas on a last minute, last weekend before snow attempt to summit Gannett Peak in the Wind River Range. In true WannaBe pro fashion, Stas has never used an ice axe, Jacob buys a Garmin InReach the day of, and several friends are telling Jacob it's too late in the season. Will the myriad of obstacles, including infinite boulders, snow, bushwhacking, remoteness or dark prevent WannaBe Pro from standing 20 feet higher than the Grand Teton? Or will the Wind Rivers finally give up its crown jewel? Watch to find out!

    From a 67 year old who's climbed Gannett--pretty balsy to do this so late in the season with such little light. Well thought out, well planned. You guys know your stuff and are fit enough to pull it off. Congrats!

    Late season, good weather window, very efficient movement. Nice job!

    Great job.I tried it solo same route ten years ago. One of very few mountains that I did not make the summit.😢 Came across a mountain lion sitting 4 to 6 feet off the trail at 2 am a few miles from the parking lot. Had its back to the water. I probably should have freaked out.But I was too damn tired to care. I definitely need to go back and try it again. Great vid👍

    awesome job dude! I do a lot of the hardest day hikes in the US and this is on my list for next summer. I might pick your brain on it as the time approaches as i would do that same route. I have a lot of videos up on my channel if you're looking for good hikes!

    We attempted this route in 9/22 but got rained out. Want to go back but haven't scheduled it yet. The last section to the summit looks steep and "spicy", how dangerous is it?

    • @wannabepro7
      @wannabepro7  6 месяцев назад

      I would say that without snow, it would be a pretty easy class 3.5 scramble. With snow, it was definitely a bit spicy which is why we chose to come down another way.

      I'm the compatriot in video, I've been to 7 others if my count is right. None of the others have been particularly difficult, though Ohio was pretty lame

    If you’re gonna blatently rip off Mediocre Amateur with your name and try to leech their audience, at least try to make the content better. Cheap and lazy strategy 👎
