Hi! I'm Japanese and I live in Tokyo.
Potato Chips which you ate, this fravor is "フレンチサラダ” means French Sarad.
And Rose candy is for refreshing mouth, so it's not tasty and it's not usually candy.
"グリコ(glico)" is a support snack. for growing born. In Japan, this is child's snack.
The gummy made by meiji, that one is special type (I have not see this in Japan.) and It's a lot of iron.
i'm glad that you like Japanese snacks!
    I really love your video.
    Sorry for my unskill English.

Really enjoyed this vlog and seeing your process including the meltdown because a lot of time we get views that are bright and sunny and there's nothing wrong with that but it sets unreasonable expectations. I can't even imagine how physically exhausting that must have been but they look magnificent! And thanks for your nuggets of wisdom. I started making handmade cards and never factored in materials or time or non monetary value of things. Hope the weather treated you well here in the states :) gonna save a little and try to get zoom for my son for Christmas for him! He loves books and your art.

everytime you upload a new video I have the instant urge to go paint something, you're such an inspiration!
I was wondering if you could give us some tips on how to use Instagram in the best way possible. I mean, I know it's not just about the followers, it's about engaging people and making them feel a human connection. The problem is, I have no idea how to do that and I could use some advice 😂

Lately, I have been really missing making my own art. Rough sketches, thumbnails, concepts, watercolor, ink pens, working on an easel, the studio lighting... I love all your vlogs, but this might be my favorite of your Studio Vlogs. I found it so honest to put in even the hard parts (i.e. your breakdown), but also really helpful for people like me who've always flirted with the idea of going freelance. Your vlogs are always a joy to watch!

First of all, ALL of your vlogs should be this long!
I think this is such an interesting video, as it really shows the behind-the-scenes very well and I really enjoy that. I love the part about your pitch very much, because it gave me quite a good idea of how to present my ideas to potential clients. So far, I've been doing it rather...sporadically, so to speak.
Lastly, that Q&A also really helps. I'll definitely review my rates after this!
    Thank you so much, Sha'an!

    @BrunaChaves09 6 лет назад +14

    Hey sha'an!
Stop everything you're doing during such a huge commission like that just to record some vlog shootings of the background of your work seems to be so exhaustive; that's why I want to thank you for the extra time you invest on this channel, on recording and editing such amazing videos as the ones you're always uploading here! I literally screamed when I saw you uploaded a 26-minute studio vlog, and I loved every second of it! Thank you very much (:
ps1: do you have a bullet journal? I don't know if you have already talked about this in a previous video, but I would love to see more about how you organize your day, your week, your commissions and appointments. Maybe a flip-through your bujo/agenda?
ps2: you showed in this video a playlist on spotify you were listening to, and now I really want to know what you like to listen to while working. Maybe post the link to your spotify profile on the description along with the other social media?
ps3: I really liked the painting on the wall on your right during the q&a. Do you know what is the name of it?
Sorry for the super long comment and congrats again on your amazing work and everything you've been accomplishing
    xoxo from Brazil 💚💛

The commissioned pieces are SO beautiful, you're so skilled and your vision and attention to detail is so dreamy. It was sooo interesting and informative to learn about the commission process. I'm not an artist but I can just imagine how helpful and reassuring to an aspiring artist this will be, to get actual concrete details about how stuff like that actually plays out. In my own field I'm often completely in the dark about how those sorts of details and processes happen and it's so important to demystify such things!!

Great vlog. I enjoyed the singular focus as I think it adds narrative to the vlog. This was a great q and a as well and advice I give to young designers often. Cheers.

I've always struggled with charging people for photoshoots and always get the model to choose a price usually so this was super helpful, thank you!

Thank you for answering my question! And yeah you're right I think communication is key when it comes to any client-supplier relationship.
As for handling one project at a time, I find that very very pleasant. Your mind is more relaxed and focused. However, sometimes it does get a bit draining to think about and work on the same thing for long periods of time. But I'm sure there's a balance in there somehow haha.
PS, love your vlogs, as always xx
