I *really* like the message behind this one. Just because a thing is popular or mainstream doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. Just because something is known by everyone doesn't mean it can't be meaningful to you. That's kind of a concept that gets lost among those clamoring to be famous nowadays. You have to do something unique to be able to gain recognition, and recognition is all that matters - but somewhere along the scramble into the spotlight, we forgot what it felt like to do something just because we like doing it.
I know right? I also really like the message. Nowadays we're too preoccupied with being "unique", and especially in the internet there's this culture of "oh em gee ew normies" that futher incites people to try and be unique and find things to like/relate to that others don't. Honestly being hipster/not a normie is unironically overrated. People should just accept that they like something popular and move on!

Came to the same kind of conclusion as most here, but I feel that not only is this song about acceptance, but I feel it's also about the crisis of personal identity. Who are you? Where is the line between nature and nurture when it comes to identity? Simply existing obfuscates the boundaries these two aspects. When you act, people will naturally comment and criticize your actions, and that will shape you, whether you like it or not. Are you being whittled away? What parts of yourself are original, and what has been plastered on? All of this not only applies to people on an individual level, but on performances or arts. Pinocchio wants to get better at his craft, and knows he should find motivation from within, but may feel that outside influences are affecting him (0:39-0:47), so this may be his way of saying how difficult it is to keep on going making things he can be happy with and learn from on a personal level, while simultaneously making his audience happy (1:28-1:57), and how each song brings him closer to the tragic end of his self. Rayne Forrest this happens to me. A song won’t sound too good at first, but only after listening to it another time and then another will it really grow on me and then I’ll like it. I just thought of a really creepy idea, what if an artist produced a song about "from the beyond" and had things set in place to release it after they'd passed away?
That would be really weird. Seeing a video like that pop-up and then realizing that the artist isn't even alive to release it.
It hasn't been done with Vocaloid as far as I know, but Tupac and Michael Jackson have done them.
