Great video. I’ve been looking for years on pruning advice for my older tree, which is currently about 20 feet tall, with 4 main branches shooting up from about 8 feet. From what you are saying, I’m thinking that I could remove 2 of these, and maybe top two others the following year, while carrying out minimal thinning and cutting back of lower growth. Does that sound sensible?

Aloha , Thank you for the great videos. When using a pole chain saw for pruning do you use a organic or natural oil for the chain, or are you using the standard chain bar oil? Has this been a consideration? Thanks in advance from Molokai. Stop by when you are out here. Mahalo ,

I have an avocado tree that needs pruning desperately. I was told not to prune it because it would kill the tree. I have a large limb touching the ground. What do I do? Can I prune it?

Of course you can, you won’t kill the tree you will make it stronger.

Another question not really pruning related but I have an avocado tree that got blown by the strong winds. It's a mature tree that came with our property. I was wondering if it's savable? We want to keep our precious avocado tree but it's slightly uprooted from the ground but roughly 90% is still in the ground. How do we get it back upright?

It should be fine. Trees can take crazy damage and eventually recoup.
