    Super Info bro . Any particular travel insurance providers you would recommend ?

    • @crossthecountries
      @crossthecountries  2 года назад

      In Australia there are couple of providers who are good in terms of response, price and claims InsureandGo Australia & 1Cover Insurance. Most of the cases I use Allianz insurance, which I get complimentary when using my credit card.
      In India I have tried Tata AIG, which is good in terms of cover amount & 24 hour helpline. Haven't tried any other provider though

    Thank you for the useful video. I always used to avoid Travel insurance because of additional cost but I think it's way safer to use this. One question. How much would it cost for a 1 month trip to Australia from Chennai ?

    • @crossthecountries

      I'm happy to hear that you found our video to be informative. In terms of travel insurance, you are absolutely right. Sometimes when we strive to save money on Travel insurance, the costs of a vacation end up being higher than we anticipated.
      As I said in the video, the prices of Insurance varies depending upon the cover we opt for and the age of the traveller. I would say the Insurance cost will be from Rupees 1600~2000

    One clarification : travel insurance has to be taken before flight booking or even just taking it before departure date is fine ?

      Thanks for your quick response bro !!
      Can NRI apply for travel insurance for our international trip ? Say for example, I've been residing in Japan for the past 2+ years (NRI). Having plans to visit Singapore, Indonesia for a 2 week trip, in this case, can I apply for travel insurance from an India based company like Tata AIG etc for my trip ? Is it allowed to claim in case of any need after my trip ? Bcoz, most of the websites don't contain such information and they mentioned "start date from India" & "return date to India".

    • @crossthecountries
      @crossthecountries  2 месяца назад +1

      it's often easier to get travel insurance from the country where you currently live, as it simplifies the claims process. You can also consider global companies. Personally, I find local insurance companies offer better support.
      is there a reason why you want to go with TATA AIG? or are you travelling to India?

    • @giriadithya
      @giriadithya 2 месяца назад

      @@crossthecountries I see.. not really bro. Since this will be my first cross country travel, I'm a bit confused on the travel insurance. I've travelled within India and have some experience with Tata AIG. Let me check in my current living country, Japan on my requirements. If you could recommend any, it'll be helpful for me as well bro!! 😃

    Would insurance cover the cost of a missed flight if I arrive late at the airport?

    • @crossthecountries
      @crossthecountries  2 года назад

      That's good question. But the straight answer is no. In case you miss your flight because of certain unforeseen reasons (for ex: a close relative got sick), you are injured, sick, etc. then yes, the Travel Insurance will kick in and your flight tickets, trips expenses will be reimbursed.

  • @deepthithilagar

    Would insurance protect me if I bought a non-refundable plane ticket but afterwards changed my mind about taking the trip?

    • @crossthecountries
      @crossthecountries  2 года назад

      Insurance is only for unforeseen incidents which come under the list of valid reasons indicated by the Insurance provider. In case you miss your flight or cancel your trip because of those incidents, you will be reimbursed. even though it is a non-refundable ticket.
      Just like that change of mind wont work, Change of mind because of sickness, injuries, health issues, etc will work

    Would travel Insurance cover if I missed my connection flight, travelling from Chennai to Paris via Dubai.
    Does it cover my other expenses including accomodation, food and subsequent flight???

    • @crossthecountries
      @crossthecountries  2 года назад +1

      Are you travelling to Paris from Chennai int eh same airline. meaning, have you booked the same airline for the connecting flight from Dubai to Paris??

      @@crossthecountries Yes, I m flying in the same airline. Emirates

    • @crossthecountries
      @crossthecountries  2 года назад +1

      Ok, Usually It is the responsibility of your airline to get you on the connection flights. In case there is a delay in Chennai airport and because of which you have missed your Paris flight, Emirates will take care of your next flight, accommodation and food expenses.
      If you have travel insurance, then you can claim for delayed departure. There will be an all inclusive allowance.

      @@crossthecountries Thanks bro. Just one more query, In case I m taking care of those expenses myself, will I be still eligible to claim??

    • @crossthecountries
      @crossthecountries  2 года назад +1

      Hi bro, usually the Travel insurance companies will have set conditions (valid reasons) where it will cover the missed connection flights, in case the airline is not taking responsibility. Equipment failure, bad weather forcing the delay or any airport strikes. so we need to read the Travel insurance document in detail in determining whether we are eligible or not
