if its the same size (2.5 inches) that is possible but keep in mind that the steel pieces that are screwed in to the hdd( the ones with the screw holes which make screwing in the hdd possible ) are different brand to brand or even model to model. This means that you can swap the steel brackets and install the new HDD into your secondary laptop :)
I removed the silver foil first, then unscrewed the rectangular thing underneath. Then I looked for information on the thin rectangular thing, and it read Hitachi Hard Drive, so I destroyed it with a hammer, just to protect my personal account info, such as Passwords, and User Names etc.
@@garydunn3037 that's awesome...yeah Hitachi is a hard drive brand so yeah you got the right part. you could also have just formatted it😅and reused the drive. the smashing was a bit excessive

CQ58 No power not charging
Is the rectangular part you removed first the "Hard Drive"?
I'm throwing my old CQ58 out but want to know if I have removed the Hard Drive
with Passwords and Bank details are gone first.
@@garydunn3037donno if you threw it away but the silver thing at the top that he removes is the hard drive
@@monsiu I trashed the whole thing.
Silver paper and the rectangular thing.
Broke it with a Hammer, to pieces.
