+XxUnicorn_slayerxX Dont worry, its all practice , it will come to you some chords are much easier that others ( bar chords tend to be a bit of a pain), relax and go slowly while you practice. Relax Dont grip the neck try not to apply too much pressure. Dont strum every bar ( if its 4 strums just do one..then two ) Relax Enjoy :) i'm only a beginner but i've learnt to not worry when i get it wrong, just stop and try again, it will eventually all fall into place :D

Am I the only one who can't play guitar and sing at the same time? Like I have the chords and the strumming pattern down, but every time I add words, I can't do it. Also, I am really bad at transitioning between chords.

I have been playing for almost six years now. I play fingerstyle now, but this is the first song I've ever learned. I grabbed my dad's old guitar at 11 years old and typed in: how to play guitar, this was the first song that showed up, I didn't even know Loyals haha. I have taught many people at my school a little bit of guitar, and your way of making someone immediately play a song they like is the most effective way I know. Learning is not about talent, it's about perseverance, and you can't have perseverance if you don't like the thing you're doing. I was a hard kid to teach, I quit most sports I've done and was never able to commit to music lessons, but you taught me. Thank you for making this tutorial, I owe you more than you know.
Anyone who is having trouble changing chords try "one minute changes." Meaning start on the D then go to C then back to D back to C without playing the strumming hand. Once you have that part down, then try from C to G and repeat. This will help with your memory, or getting those transitions down. Once you have learned that, then try to add in your strumming hand. If you get stuck on a certain note just practice the harder one with one you already know. I hope this will help those if you who are having a hard time with changing from one chord to the next:)) Remember it takes practice and a lot of practice especially with Barre chords. Don't give up because it is really rewarding to learn this instrument:))

so comprehensive and broken down in just the right way...i also like you do it with us slowly, since as a beginner it's hard to do it quickly, and it's hard to know if it's right when slow. also love that you have the chords and lyrics at the end, this may be bad practise, but i find it MUCH easier when i know which word to switch on! thanks so much!

Practice and practice try doing singing and then playing the guitar then do it fast i am 50% sure it will work, pls tell me if it works i do it if i get confused =) hope it works

You kidding. D is the most easiest for me. It's the transition from C to G that's hard for me. I can never play C cleanly. My fingers aren't long enough to stretch over 3 frets and the e string always gets muted by my palm.
Frances says Hi the strumming cane be hard just follow the down up down patter on the screen start it then after a while you will find the correct rhythm :)

Don't know if you've fixed your problem yet but if your still struggling then you can only play the D, G, B, e strings and put you ring finger on the 3rd fret of the e string. It doesn't sound as full but this is how I started when I couldn't stretch far enough and it helped!

Just realized that I have been using the wrong fingers on the G chord for years and could never make it sound right...now because of your video, I can actually make a G chord sound like it should! So happy. I think maybe my guitar teacher showed me a different way to play G so transition was easier, but it didn't work because I could never play G. Thanks!
u know go to appstore or google play whichever phone u have and download 'guitar tuner' its actually really good to help u tune your guitar i use it too
not her fault it's fast. it's the tempo of the song. she actually breaks it down very well. just play those parts where she does it slow over and over again until you're ready to move on.

Frances says Hi the strumming cane be hard just follow the down up down patter on the screen start it then after a while you will find the correct rhythm :)

Don't know if you've fixed your problem yet but if your still struggling then you can only play the D, G, B, e strings and put you ring finger on the 3rd fret of the e string. It doesn't sound as full but this is how I started when I couldn't stretch far enough and it helped!

Thank you so much! Just realized that I have been using the wrong fingers on the G chord for years and could never make it sound right...now because of your video, I can actually make a G chord sound like it should! So happy. I think maybe my guitar teacher showed me a different way to play G so transition was easier, but it didn't work because I could never play G. Thanks!

u know go to appstore or google play whichever phone u have and download 'guitar tuner' its actually really good to help u tune your guitar i use it too

not her fault it's fast. it's the tempo of the song. she actually breaks it down very well. just play those parts where she does it slow over and over again until you're ready to move on.
