As a first generation punk I despair at how few bands have got the guts to say anything. So big up to this lot for saying something that needs to be said. I'm not sure which bit of 'touch me again and I'll fucking kill you' some people seem to find cringe worthy. It should chill you that women have to speak out in such terms against what can only be described as predatory arseholes!

Punk was nice, but when people say "My body, my choice" or "My life, my choice" they sound silly and misguided. How can Life and Body be yours, from the moment you didn't created and choose it? It's more like a gift and not your option. Please, rethink those things. They are deeper than they seem. It's not a simple sociological matter, it's more like an ontological.
But anyways, i understand the angriness against patriarchy, its very legitimate and natural. In my opinion, women should try to find their own path in existence and not just catch up men's (wrongly) path and overcome them. Help us to redifine our "options" (or create new). Not just fucking kill us, because at the end you will become lonely and something worse than us. And i can't see a win there for anyone.

As a "man" who was sexually assaulted by both "women" and "men" several times, this is what feminsim is exactly about. Also, lyrics are always open to interpretation and I feel like "touch me again and I'll fucking kill you" speaks of the following trauma, not an an actual desire to kill.
I'm going to refer you to another less angry song called Not All Men by Morgan St. Jean. Please don't call it silly and misguided. These bodies, these gifts as you say, were given to us. They belong to us. And it's our choice if we want to share ourselves with others, or not. If somebody takes that choice away, that's called stealing. That's called rape. There is nothing complicated or metaphysical about it. This is not about overcoming men, it's about surviving them. It's about living in a world where we are constantly belittled, crushed down, intimidated, and yes, preyed upon. To quote Morgan St. Jean, 'we all know that it's not all men.' But 'one out of three' people are sexually assaulted 'every seventy-six seconds.'
And those are some extremely difficult statistics to argue with.
