Very hard to make out number plate. I think the sensor must not be too good... In settings option, select "Wide dynamic range: enabled". It will hopefully not make the street as dark when the sky is very bright. Otherwise, tell the exposure metering setting to do "centre spot or lower half average."
@Lucas-mu5no Some dashcams are wired to the battery, which could be a problem. But then it will start recording as soon as its shock/mic sensors are activated. Others have a LiPo battery, which will limit recording time.

do you know if it has a battery? Just wondering how it's supposed to record when the car engine is off
