@@calenbarnes9597 I love the physics (though admittedly the slower cars were too sluggish) in this game so much more than 5. 5 really tamed down everything to make it less chaotic. In 4 you could do the most insane stunts. Really hope 6 is a return to form in this regard.

I remember being blown away by this trailer when I first saw it. PS2 era was at the end, and GTA IV reveal was jaw dropping. The evolution from San Andreas, at least from graphics aspect was something I couldn't stop talking with friends.

I think it’s safe to say that we’ll never have a GTA as serious as this one ever again. It’s crazy how fast time goes. This game’s cycle ended 10 years ago and now GTA V’s cycle will end in less than 2 years from now. And a new era is about to begin, but GTA IV will always be my favorite out of the bunch.

GTA IV with it's DLC's and GTA SA are my favorite GTA game's. To me they were game's you wanted to explore every mission, character's , activity as a kid i was impressed with the story line with those 3 game's i went home from school to watch every day Gta Series Video's and tutorial how to pass certain mission's. i wanted Niko Bellic and Luis Lopez to meet Carl Johnson or The Lost MC being allies with Grove Street Familie's . GTA 4, EFLC, SA had and still have the best story, character's, gameplay in the franchise also Merry Christmas.
The thought of GTA IV and 2008 being 10 years ago now makes me feel old like dirt and kind of weird. To me it just feels like yesterday. I remember watching the various different GTA IV trailers here on Rockstar's RUclips channel for over a year around 2007 - 2008 until purchasing the game at my local Gamestop on April 29th, 2008 in a crowded packed line. That's how real and epic the hype was. I was 17 years old at the time, so it was the first time I was able to purchase a rated "M" game legally on my own without a parent or guardian. It was a huge deal and something I'll never forget.
This trailer was mind-blowing back in the day. People going crazy over how closely Liberty City resembled the real New York, a huge step up from its GTA III incarnation. It felt like Rockstar had rewritten the rules of video gaming once again.

I remember when they first announced IV, I’d be surfing the internet every day trying to find new screenshots and information, getting spoken to numerous times at school about it… I couldn’t wait to get it, then flash forward to April 2008 and there’s a 12 year old me in line at GameStop with my dad for the midnight release. I actually came in second place for a trivia event they did. Fun times. Simpler times. I miss it all. This game truly is a masterpiece, and I’m so glad it was a part of my childhood. But no cousin, I don’t want to go bowling right now. Some other time.

Years back when GTA V was about to come out, I really didn't love this game that much. It's realistic physics and dark atmosphere used to irritate me. Now, this game has become my favorite in the series. Maybe because I've grown older. But the atmosphere and the story hits just differently than the other GTA games. It is a master piece of a game.
GTA IV is Dan Houser's baby, the story he's been wanting to tell for a while. I really love the more dark and grounded tone of the game and it's still the best GTA story to this day

The fact that unlike other GTA games, GTA 4 had an amazing story which didn't start out as a Bank Heist,Arrest or a Drug Deal. Just as a New guy who came to Liberty City for the first time thinking Roman had a Mansion.
Agreed gta4 has a better storyline then gta5 something that is overlooked. Yeah gta5 has the bigger better map and has way more content admitally but gta4 has the better storyline by far.
The fact that this trailer was released 17 years ago makes me (a now grown 29 year old man) cry. 12-13 year old me used to dine out on gaming magazine's that had any kind of GTA IV feature in it, feasting on any little tid bits on how they were going to create this world... I’ll never forget the day my dad took me to Blockbuster to get this game. I was 11 and i played the story for a little bit, then figured out you could play online and free mode was all i did. Me and my old pal BunnyCurbstomp would do the most random and fun stuff for hours. It wasn’t until i was about 21 that i actually fully played the campaign and realized this game was so good, not only on the online side of things but the story was so engaging. I guess as a kid it just couldn’t keep my pea brain attention span engaged enough to actually see how good it really was. And its weird cause i would always beat the story on San Andreas because it was so good, but it didn’t have an online mode or BunnyCurbstomp. I hope you’re still alive dude, you definitely showed me a lot of cool stuff I’ll never forget. Even though i forgot your real name lmao 🤣. 2008 was a golden period in time for me, no responsibilities and great games. This and Halo 3 were my main games.

I think it’s safe to say that we’ll never have a GTA as serious as this one ever again. It’s crazy how fast time goes. This game’s cycle ended 10 years ago and now GTA V’s cycle will end in less than 2 years from now. And a new era is about to begin, but GTA IV will always be my favorite out of the bunch.

This hits terribly hard after finishing the game… such a masterpiece, a game that was clearly ahead of its time. My favorite GTA.
GTA IV with it's DLC's and GTA SA are my favorite GTA game's. To me they were game's you wanted to explore every mission, character's , activity as a kid i was impressed with the story line with those 3 game's i went home from school to watch every day Gta Series Video's and tutorial how to pass certain mission's. i wanted Niko Bellic and Luis Lopez to meet Carl Johnson or The Lost MC being allies with Grove Street Familie's . GTA 4, EFLC, SA had and still have the best story, character's, gameplay in the franchise also Merry Christmas.

The thought of GTA IV and 2008 being 10 years ago now makes me feel old like dirt and kind of weird. To me it just feels like yesterday. I remember watching the various different GTA IV trailers here on Rockstar's RUclips channel for over a year around 2007 - 2008 until purchasing the game at my local Gamestop on April 29th, 2008 in a crowded packed line. That's how real and epic the hype was. I was 17 years old at the time, so it was the first time I was able to purchase a rated "M" game legally on my own without a parent or guardian. It was a huge deal and something I'll never forget.

This trailer was mind-blowing back in the day. People going crazy over how closely Liberty City resembled the real New York, a huge step up from its GTA III incarnation. It felt like Rockstar had rewritten the rules of video gaming once again.
Every revolutionary GTA is always set in Liberty City, from the original to III and then IV. This city is very special indeed.

I remember when they first announced IV, I’d be surfing the internet every day trying to find new screenshots and information, getting spoken to numerous times at school about it… I couldn’t wait to get it, then flash forward to April 2008 and there’s a 12 year old me in line at GameStop with my dad for the midnight release. I actually came in second place for a trivia event they did. Fun times. Simpler times. I miss it all. This game truly is a masterpiece, and I’m so glad it was a part of my childhood.

Right there with you man. I remember seeing screentshote of a Burgershot with a BS worker outside sweeping. I was just so taken back by the attention to detail in not only that screenshot but virtually every one they dropped before game release.

Years back when GTA V was about to come out, I really didn't love this game that much. It's realistic physics and dark atmosphere used to irritate me. Now, this game has become my favorite in the series. Maybe because I've grown older. But the atmosphere and the story hits just differently than the other GTA games. It is a master piece of a game.
GTA IV is Dan Houser's baby, the story he's been wanting to tell for a while. I really love the more dark and grounded tone of the game and it's still the best GTA story to this day

The best story talking actually about life niko tries to escape from his dark life and trying to make a new start and as he said things will be different and life is complicated in the end he earned nothing some things never change after all he does his life is still dark and miserable .... RUclips recommend this to me 15 years later i cried so much thinking my best friend would be so happy if he could play this game with me at least for one last time... The fact that this trailer was released 17 years ago makes me (a now grown 29 year old man) cry. 12-13 year old me used to dine out on gaming magazine's that had any kind of GTA IV feature in it, feasting on any little tid bits on how they were going to create this world... Man, what a time... The fact we've been waiting 11 years (and counting) for a new iteration of GTA is so wild.

I’ll never forget the day my dad took me to Blockbuster to get this game. I was 11 and i played the story for a little bit, then figured out you could play online and free mode was all i did. Me and my old pal BunnyCurbstomp would do the most random and fun stuff for hours. It wasn’t until i was about 21 that i actually fully played the campaign and realized this game was so good, not only on the online side of things but the story was so engaging. I guess as a kid it just couldn’t keep my pea brain attention span engaged enough to actually see how good it really was. And its weird cause i would always beat the story on San Andreas because it was so good, but it didn’t have an online mode or BunnyCurbstomp. I hope you’re still alive dude, you definitely showed me a lot of cool stuff I’ll never forget. Even though i forgot your real name lmao 🤣. 2008 was a golden period in time for me, no responsibilities and great games. This and Halo 3 were my main games.
