I am 70 years old and retired. I decided to learn to play the piano. I have watched a hundred different videos on RUclips and applied most of what I viewed. Your channel is the very best. Your energy, knowledge and discourse are amazing. I have learned so much from you. Thank you, and keep up the great work!
I am 76 and my pattern is the same as yours. Pianote is the best think I discovered. It really answers all my questions and difficulties at the piano. That channel is the very best YES and my subscription to Pianote is the best gift to myself. Have fun and emotion with your piano!
Ok.... I spent 3!!!! Years at university studying Classical Composition and Counter Point Got a 2nd In 1991 Scroll through to 2018 I started playing/writing again YOU have NO idea how important these lessons are to a beginner😂 Amazing explanation weather you start, return of need a refresher, you guys a so great with these👍👍👍👍
I'm in school for audio engineering but we shut down last march due to covid and i lost all of the theory i learned, this was a perfect refresher as i'm a guitarist and have never played piano in my life
This woman teaches so well, I feel like I might learn how to play difficult songs by Christmas. It’s November 20, 2021 and this Christmas I really want to play Jazzy Christmas music, and I feel like I might learn a few difficult songs thanks to her.
Thank you Lisa, you're lessons have inspired me to take the plunge to buy a keyboard. I've wanted a piano for ages, but knew I wouldn't progress to the level I wanted, so never bought one. Please don't stop teaching... Chris from Taunton, Somerset, England
Hi Lisa, I have played since I was a child and now teach children. I love how you teach and I love to borrow some of your ways of describing things - thanks!
This is wonderful,I like to play around with major and minor triads, and sometimes I'll add in a sus4 chord to add some spice, especially when resolving back to the major triad - thankyou Lisa.
Great lesson, I needed a little recap on the chords. Thank you are amazing! Your enthusiasm for the music comes out and makes it so easy to learn. Thanks and keep on keeping on
Creep by Radiohead is a good mnemonic to instantly recall the sound of a major vs minor chord, since it's a popular song you've probably heard many times, and it has a Cmaj that immediately goes to a Cmin, only the third moving down a halfstep.
Wow. I really don't play piano (yet), but after nearly 30 years, I still struggle to play guitar. I was told many years ago to learn the piano to really learn to play the guitar. This lesson really hits home. Thank you! One day I will take the cover off my keyboard and really learn this stuff.
Never disappointing ! Woow! Thanks so much for yet again an amazing teaching on how to play piano! Your instruction and teaching is bar none!! I've grown immensely by your teachings and can't thank God enough!! :0 :) I'm learning Piano for production in Logic Prox Happy New Year and thank you again!! #keepthevidscoming p.s. the quality of your vids blows EVERYON else out of the water!!!
Hi! Please can you make a video on building chords on specific scale like Natural F minor and explain all chords like Augmented or dimnished which can be used in that particular scale.
Too good ! Unbelievably simple method to form Major or Minor chords on any keyboard. Just focus and listen attentively by reducing / or adjusting speed of narration to your own convenience and that would be very helpful in comprehending how major or minor chords are made. Repeat 'practice' practice of course is a must . ..No substitute for that .Warm Regards.
I find your channel very gripping and very-well explained. Now, I'd like to ask you a favor... Could you explain an intro with a harmonic circle playing chords in both hands? Something to say for example, you sit at the piano and with chords you play kind of intro. Thanks in advance.
I wish somebody would do a video on how to play Colin Towns's Full Circle. I can figure it out by ear, but I can't figure out how to actually play it. The way you'd have to position your hands to play the bass clef or whatever seems impossible.
Hello! Since you seem to be currently active (Feb 2020), I was wondering if you have a way to help people with specific, slightly more advanced questions. I recently had a melody create itself in my head which I've since notated. Although I'm decent tinkering out melodies, I'm not great figuring out how to make more out of it with harmony/chords/percussion etc.. At this moment, I'm not even entirely convinced I know what key it's in although my best bet is A Minor - even though it starts and ends on a D, the note A is quite prominent as well (and there are no sharps/flats, of course). Is there a way to get some feedback on it, or do you know someone that offers this type of service that's not full on theory instruction? Greatly appreciate your time and this channel's content!
Hey there! You can send me questions through the Pianote Facebook page if there are files to upload such as audio or photos of music. Send it there and we can dive a bit deeper into your music! :)

Great suggestion! :)

@@PianoteOfficial Thanks! That'd bé gorgeous! 👏👏👏
Thankyou for making music theory accessible 🙏In the last part, what were you doing with the left hand? Were you playing the same chord? Thankyou🙂🌹

How about the base notes does it change when you play a minor chord?

A very nice lesson indeed! I never thought about moving between minor and major chords of the same root. Who else likes BEFORE the video?🤣
