Growing up I used to play generals all the time. There's this one game where I absolutely destroyed my big brother (I was playing GLA, he was US ) by spamming scud storms, and I could hear him panic from the other side of the rooms every time a new scud timer would appear on screen. We still often laugh about it to this day, it was such a great moment. Anyway, it is nice to see the same psychological warfare work so well against AIs too hahaha. Thanks for the video man and gg : )
Let me make up a fanfic story behind this. So turns out the CCP had had enough of General Tao's nuclear shenanigans and labeled him a threat to their political stability, considering he can just take over on threat of nuclear annihilation. Apparently Tao has a lot of connections backing him up, making it really difficult to even move a bunch of armies against him. Bunch of troops had to even be bundled under the command of General Shin Fai (infantry general) just to ensure their loyalty. And here we are.
This map is called Death Valley, and it is an official map, so it should be included with the game or some of its patches. If you are looking for other maps however, I suggest finding maps on sites like cnclabs.com or on discord servers of some larger Zero Hour communities.
This My General I play the most & VRS any army ? Nuke planes is a good weapon if you EVER use it ! & I have NEVER used more then 4 NUKES in a game like this ?
I found it helpful to build several nukes as early as possible to take out the enemy nuke silos. And from there I just decided to keep the tactic going.
@@clowngeneral I build up my defense , build up 6 choppers & 4 king tanks NUKE or Tank General [China ] team , to go along with 4 nukes ? I DO use my NUKE bomber every 3 mins in my games . Maybe there is a way to do so, but I struggled with this match until I tried this tactic of seemingly excessive gattling cannons. I don't see how building nuke weapons early on would have helped me survice the oncoming attacks from the enemy.
I have no idea, I've never seen that before. I even addressed this in the description of the video. Some of the enemy AI didn't bother keeping their power on, like that one with the 7 min nuke timer, it never started counting down. The reason I didn't redo this was because I had previously tried this matchup with this strategy of excessive gatling cannons in a multi-layered front and I won. So I believe I would have been able to take a few more nuke hits if the enemy didn't "give up". And also, as this isn't really meant to be a walkthrough or tutorial, but rather a fun playthrough, I found it applicable to keep all the weirdness in and not rerecord.
@@Vagabond-h7c Maybe. That "Missing" got added after I downgraded some of the patches in an effort to make the game more stable. I would think that it only means that this map exists without some other files knowing about it, but maybe I'm wrong.
@@Vagabond-h7c In an effort to increase stability. I saw somewhere online that someone had a case against some of the patches. I thought it wouldn't hurt to try so I downgraded. My game didn't become less stable by the change so I kept it.
If you hover over the buildings, or even units or actions, you will see that one letter in their name will be highlighted (or rather bolded) in yellow in the "infographic" that pops up to the left, displaying information about the structure/unit/action. This is the hotkey to select a structure to build, or select a unit to be built etc. If you are however asking about how I access already built structures, I do that with same hotkeys as for units. The trick is to select units/structures, and assign a hotkey number with Ctrl + Number. Then you can access that structure/units with the number.
And then there are a few other tricks. When you have some units selected, "E" is to select all units of same type on screen, and a second tap on "E" selects all units of same type over whole map. "X" can be used to scatter units. "Q" and "W" select all combat units / all airborne units on screen, and a second tap selects all on map. Then there is also Ctrl + "F" which switches units to formation mode, and they restrict their movement speed to the slowest moving unit. I don't really use this. There might be more that I'm missing or unaware of.
I think it may just be installing the patches, like 1.04 or whatever it was. I however used Legi's GenPatcher, which is a really nice tool to help you set up your Zero Hour, and it even walks you through the steps you need to take if anything is amiss. I know that some maps are apparently poorly-designed, lacking some AI-paths used for pathfinding. Such issues can be mitigated by finding a "fixed" version of the map by any of the community members. GenPatcher might even do this automatically if I remember correctly. Even after using GenPatcher, I still sometimes encounter the "serious error". This depends on what faction my opponents are and whatnot. I have also tried downgrading some patches along with other shenanigans such as setting a flag in the executable to allow it to utilize 4GB RAM. This was suggested on some thread somewhere. I don't know if it is already included in GenPatcher or not. All in all, the community seems to agree that the game is poorly written. I have encountered the "serious error" multiple times and tried many things. I haven't done extensive testing so I can't say for sure if what I did is actually better or not. Sometimes, to prevent the error from occurring, I just had to beat the enemy quicker.
Its not my favorite to increase the normal speed of the game, it feels like increasing the difficulty artificially somehow (I'm not a huge fan of excessive micro-management).
Well I found myself driven to build quite a few of them as fast as possible to take out the enemy nukes. And at that point, I could just as well focus on them, build as many as I could, and create a show when I rain them down on the enemy bases.

Yes
Hahaha, yup
Just by thumbnail, that is already a warcrime.

Hello, your gameplay is boring, no attack, no tactic, no strategy, so boring when you attack man, building activators makes me bored.
In your opinion, what would constitute a non-boring gameplay?
