      The subject is a particle on a circle.
      This is the first complete solution that he
      shows to schrodingers equation. This
      solution describes the probability density
      of an electron bound to a nuclei. The discussion
      prior states that after much debate it
      was decided that the meaning of this solution
      was that the value at any point was the
      probability of finding the particle at that point.
      Specifically it does not indicate the density
      of the particle.
      Your description of an electron bound
      to a nuclei is call the electron orbit model.
      This model describes the bound electron
      as a tiny particle that orbits the nuclei like
      a space station.
      The solutions of this equation show that
      the electron "can be found at any moment
      of time" in an area thousands of times larger
      than the area where the nuclei can be found.
      You will hear the instructor say "electron cloud"
      when describing how the electron is dispersed
      around the nuclei.
      This says that the electron can be found
      in a space thousands of times larger than
      the nuclei. It also says the electron behaves
      like a wave.
      When nuclei are bound in molecules,
      the nuclei share clouds of electrons. There is an
      electron that is bound by both nuclei. The
      electrons that are bound by two nuclei
      exhibit the same wave behavior and are
      distributed in space thousands of times
      larger than the nuclei. Just stretched
      between the nuclei.
      Furthermore there is the electric field.
      this is a freshman physics topic. Every
      electron has an electric field. The electric
      field is what binds all of matter. Nuclei
      have positive electric fields, electrons have
      negative electric fields. These fields bind
      electrons to nuclei. Radio is an example
      of human understanding of the electric
      field. It is a long range phenomena. The
      electric field has mass. The electric field
      fills all of space around its electron.
      There is no emptiness in the atom.
      All of space is filled with the fields of
      the particles. This field is an inseparable
      part of the particle.
      Remove the electric fields, you have gravity.
      There is gravity in the space between the
      electron and the nuclei as well. No emptiness.
      Likewise, the Higgs field will exist in this space.
      I think the theory of the Higgs field is believed to
      be true for the known universe. Which would mean
      that you can not tell me a single "empty" point in
      this universe. Please correct me if my understanding
      of this is wrong.
