Any of the 4 Great Britain guys might be able to break 1:44 as well as Hwang Sunwoo of South Korea, but I still think popovici goes sub 143 at least for the gold.
@@swimmingrobot1219 The talent is there, but it depends on how his preparation has gone so far this year. At Sette Coli he didn't show much, but maybe that's normal at that phase of the prep. It's clear that Fukuoka is the biggest event for him this year. I just hope he starts adding the 400m and maybe a 100/200m fly or back to his repertoire.
@@ninerushclips3414 I don't know what happened man. Awful swim. His stroke looked terrible too, very snatchy and his left hand has a bad flick. His former strength of second hundred was his downfall. I really don't know what to think. Someone of his age and talent shouldn't be swimming worse than the year before, let alone 2 seconds.
@@noahpalmer6653 his first 50 and arguably his second looked very smooth aswell. I honestly think he needs more strength training out of the water because I think his stroke is too efficient where he needs to be much more physically in shape.
Great done David! An entire Romanian nation is behind you and will support you during your future swimming journeys! Bravo! La msi multe medalii!!!
Popovic has the potencial to break this WR in Paris.
By his attitude and the way he splashed the water instead of celebrating the win, I’d say that’s what it drives him😳
And yet this guy still took another half second off his time within a month.
The scary thing is, I don't see anyone else going sub 1.44 this year in fukuoka, but popovici could go 1.42.5 or faster

RIP your prediction. He is still young though, may have gotten nervous or too tired
