lol that low rise jean thing XD "I'm a woman." "But what's in your pants?" "9mm." I stumbled across this channel and I'm so glad I did, thank you for sharing! I love the editing style with the seamless dialogue and cut scenes.
The best feature of a wedge, like the Dark Star Gear teardrop muzzle pad featured in this video, is that it points the muzzle away from your body. This makes reholstering, especially when carrying AIWB, much safer.
Great videos! I resisted watching your videos. I'm a big guy and I guess I thought a girl wouldn't know about what would work for a big guy. I was wrong and I'm a little embarrassed lol. I've watch a couple videos and all have presented great info in a concise and entertaining way. Great job!!
I used to run the blue alpha gear hybrid EDC as well. But recently, me and my wife switched to Kore Essentials Belts and Nexbelts and they are so much better. Far more ridged and supporting and the ratcheting adjustment system is so much easier and quieter then that loud Velcro if you need to make an adjustment after eating or when sitting down... and the DCC clips wrap around them perfectly just like the Blue Alpha Hybrid EDC.
I'm in the process of starting my conceal carry journey and love this video! I was torn specifically on holster length and now I have a better idea with all of your info. Thank you soooo much!
In in the process of getting my license to carry and have been working on figuring out how the heck i will conceal when I get it. This video was quite helpful. So many videos throw around the jargon without explaining. For example, it took me a couple weeks to figure out that "printing" means the gun shows through your clothes. I initially thought it meant that the gun was too tight on your body and left a gun print...that's the image that came to mind hearing the term without explanation!
Lots of great advice here. I would definitely recommend a solid gun belt. I started with a regular belt and then a Vedder holsters belt. Neither one were stiff enough to maintain the weight of subcompact wonder 9s, and now I see a chiropractor for back problems. I bought the Blue Alpja gear Hybrid EDC belt off of her recommendation and I really like it so far. Great video!
A little something to keep in mind is that the Dr. Scholl's gel cups will stick to whatever it's up against, be it your skin or an undergarment. I found that the gel cup sticking to my boxer briefs caused a really uncomfortable hot spot where the cup would make the fabric rub against my skin. This could probably be remedied by putting tape over the cup to reduce friction between the cup itself and whatever surface it contacts.
Vedder Light Tuck with a claw. RCS PHANTOM if you can find one the company that started it all for kydex quality holsters are the best and you can run both IWB and OWB with switch out of clips. Everyone has an opinion though. All I can say is I have been carrying for over 30 years and that is my 2 cents. Great channel mam.
Vedder was started in 2012. I mean no disrespect, but they most certainly didn't "start it all for kydex quality holsters." I think if you were to give any one of these brands a try you would become displeased with the performance and make of your Vedder :) Dark Star Gear, PHLster, and Henry Holsters. That being said, I do have plans to review Vedder and We The People in the future. So that could be a good video to keep an eye out for :)
@@tessahbooth Harrys is a great taco design with a bunch of holes in it and I respect Harry he also does great gun reviews but I like the light tuck better. Never tried a Dark Star. I'm not big on those huge mag carry type holsters plus I don't carry appendix often. If I do it's with a Ruger LCR for dog walking never for transition sitting down and getting up. Just too uncomfortable for me. Plus I believe in muscle memory during great times of stress and since I carry and carried at the 4 to 330 oclock for over 27 years both in the Military and as a Police Officer my hand would automatically go to my hip over my front if it hit the fan so it's not just a comfort issue for me.
@@Renaldo135 Just so we are clear, none of the holster companies I mentioned above make side car style holsters :) I know of raven concealment, and have heard great things about them, but never been able to try them. I did read your comment, I just didn't know what RCS meant, and assumed it was an old holster model from Vedder. Also, those are some really great reasons to continue carrying in the position that you trained in for all those years :) I'm not sure how helpful my concealment recommendations and content will be for you as I only carry appendix and don't know what is optimal for strong side carry.
@@tessahbooth Thanks. The appendix holsters work fine at 330 especially with a claw. One thing I have been doing lately is using yoga matts I buy at walmart to cushion the back of kydex holsters. It helps big time with comfort. I use velcro and cut the yoga matts to match the holsters. I put the soft velcro on the holsters themselves and the sticky part on the padding. Works great. Honestly many of the OWB holsters carry well enough with an untucked shirt that you can carry often out and about also.
I’ve found wings/claws just make my waistline busier and I need to torque my gun belt down to an uncomfortable level. Have you tried the JM Custom Kydex appendix holster? Those are amazing.
This is the video you’ll want to check out for holster recommendations, I cover just about every important detail from concealment mechanics to holster selection and key features 😊 ruclips.net/video/sERkwNeqflk/видео.html
Do you have a certain Jean brand you recommend for c&c? I'm short too and have to wear short sized jeans for them to fit. I'm in the middle of getting my c&c and worried my current jeans won't be good enough to hold the gun.
I just bought an Eclipse holster with a wing attachment but there aren't any holes for the clips. Do people drill their own holes or was it supposed to come with them pre-drilled?
No you don't drill your own holes. When you say "Eclipse holster with wing attachment", I assume you are talking about this one: eclipseholsters.com/shop/holsters/iwb-holsters/iwb-delta-holster-with-wing/delta-holster-iwb/ As you can see from the photos, that holster is designed to use a single clip attached to the same mounting point as the wing. There is no way to add a second clip (I assume that was the intent of your question).
@@TatendaZim I actually got the Eagle IWB which shows the holes in the upper center for up to 2 clips and the holes on the side for either a wing or clip.
@@nicoledufresne9721 Do you have one similar to the third photo (labeled J Clip)? eclipseholsters.com/shop/holsters/iwb-holsters/iwb-eagle-holster-standard-iwb/in-the-waistband-holsters-iwb/ This is the first time I've ever seen a holster company sell a holster with multiple attachment points but not drill out all the holes. If your holster is similar to that one, then as long as it has elevated bump outs (these keep the clip attachment hardware from scratching your pistol), I guess you can drill out the holes.
Hi Tphotog here! Do you know of any manufacturer's that make a wing to fit a Tier1 Concealed holster? (I already use their wing but i feel i need a bigger one) Their hole spacing is 20MM. I looked at Darkstargear, cause their wing looked very effective but they are at 15MM hole spacing. I always wondered why manufacturer's don't make optional wing sizes.
Tier 1 Concealed makes great holsters, but they trend toward proprietary stuff. If you're an end user that wants a one stop shop, T1C is good, but if you like to mod your holsters in any way they're not the best choice.
Thank you! My husband uses all the same concealment tips and holster features that I do actually! Our set ups actually look very similar. I've found that this is one of the few things that men and women don't greatly differ in. He uses linen shirts, natural fiber tops, holster concealment features, and wedges the same way that I do, but he carries a much larger gun (Glock 34). Hope that's helpful!
Nice presentation. Very helpful. You like to wear your gun at the 12 o'clock position so definitely do not use the wedge. You don't want to be confused with a transgender female. LOL.
