International Dialogue Revisited: The Spirit of Helsinki in an Age of Great Power Competition (2021)

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Bergedorf Round Table, the Körber-Stiftung will hold a festive event with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the Finnish President Sauli Niinistö on 22 November. Under the title “International Dialogue Revisited: The Spirit of Helsinki in an Age of Great-Power Competition”, the honorary guests will discuss opportunities and limits of international dialogue at a time of growing geopolitical tension. The discussion will include a Q&A session with the audience.
“Talking to each other rather than about one another”: guided by this motto, senior international politicians and experts have been discussing key challenges to German and European foreign policy at the Bergedorf Round Table since 1961.
