You guys should really do this segment with older dogs and dogs with disabilities/illness. These are the pups that have a harder time getting adopted especially if they're elderly.

It is still a comedy show. Old, sick dogs would make people sad. And I don't think they'd go for that.
For pups sake, please do an elder-dog segment! Older pets really need new homes.
My Earth absolutely!!! Elder doggies would be an amazing segment!! They need love and unfortunately and sadly many people are not willing to adopt adult doggies :(

I agree, but picking them up and putting them in a run together wouldn't work.
I kind of wonder if they're thinking this segment brings attention to the rescue organization as a whole. It'd be nice if Colbet did a segment on them once Trump stop's blowing Washington up every day.
I could not agree more!...I volunteered at an animal shelter a few years ago and it broke my heart how people just dump old animals off...some people don't deserve to have them...I had to stop working there eventually because I could not stand the pain any longer.
I agree that they should, but big adult dogs are hard to handle in this segment. You think Emma can pick up an adult pitbull and do the bit at the same time?
Another reason to adopt one of those puppies is that half of them have been kissed by Emma Stone, thus making them immortal.

I've always liked her, now I love her. After her kissing that first puppy - I melted. I just love this segment.
I agree with an earlier comment that Steve really needs to do this segment for older animals TOO!...I adopted my mother's 15 yr old cat when my mother died and Bella is my shadow who shows her love to me every day I am grateful to have her and she makes my day every day.
Puppies are easy to adopt out, but North Shore Animal League is bombarded with puppies on a weekly basis, especially from out-of-state puppy mills. So I could see why North Shore uses puppies for these segments rather than senior dogs. But yes of course, if you're able to and you're looking to adopt, get an adult dog!

Agreed, puppies always adopt quick. Dogs over the age of 3? They are the ones that need the help. Especially the ones getting close to 10.
Which is odd to me, because dogs already house-broken are in many ways a no-brainer.
@@brightbite you don't know what older dog's medical history is. Easily to say "should adobt older dogs" when you aren't the one paying the potential health bills.

I love this segment. And Emma is so adorable with puppies. She should do it again.
I was in North Carolina during the hurricane. I had friends who had their homes destroyed, and their animals killed. Horses, cows, chickens, dogs, cats....so MANY animals, and so MANY animals are without their owners. I came back home just few days ago, with nightmares every night. Thank u Stephen for helping these animals get adopted. Please do more of these videos to help MORE animals get adopted. I agree with other comments here about getting older animals to get adopted as well. I am a huge animal lover. If I had the resources I wud do the same. People PLEEEEEASE...please if u dont adopt these helpless animals pls have a heart and make a donation to those victims of Hurricane Florence. I made a donation to those affected in Puerto Rico and will be doing the same for those victims of this hurricane. 😧 😔

Okay, I suppose I'll do that some time. I don't even know what a phish show is.
Astrobrant2 Phish is a rock band. They've been around for decades but have been outside of the mainstream, yet they can sell out Madison Square Garden any time they want. Great musicians, very high energy, more about jams and improv, amazing lights. And their fans are quite comfortable with drugs - hence the "tripping balls" joke I made. They're definitely a good time!
I hope the puppies all get adopted and that people who missed out look into older dogs as a result.

I agree older dogs need love too but for practicality puppies are easier for the show, less likely to get into a fight because they are scared and if you see a puppy you want from the show but it is already gone you can choose to adopt an older dog. Adult dogs have a greater chance of being unpredictable in a new environment.

The down thumbs might be from people who realize that puppies get adopted very easily, and that to really show charity to homeless dogs Steven should be helping older dogs, large dogs, dogs with pre-existing conditions, and just plain ugly dogs.
I didn't down-thumb this, but I'd like to see Steven give help to the dogs who really need it.

I like what Steven's doing. It's great. But like many others, I'd like to see him help some of the typically less adoptable dogs.
BTW, I own a rescue dog and a rescue cat. In fact, for the rest of my life, any pet I get will be from the animal shelter.
