That sounds like it was a tough night! What good timing for the video though! Thanks for watching, commenting and for subscribing Rebecca! Hope the babies are doing ok :)
Hello Dr Tala, I'm watching your videos from Vietnam. Thank you so much for all of these interesting videos. Would you please tell us about hemodynamics disorders (hypotension, shock) in neonate. Thank you!!!
Hello! Thanks much for watching and for taking the time to comment. We have been asked to cover hypotension a few times- and honestly I think I've been putting off because it's SUCH a controversial and massive topic! We will get around to it though! Thank you!
Awesome video as always, always going into details without losing your audiences, oh and just letting you know a few days ago had an infant with SVT your video was really helpful, thanks again to you and your team for all the hard work
Hello! Thank you for watching - we do need to do a video on newborn screens. I think in preparation, I'd love to know what screens are sent elsewhere in the world!
@@TalaTalksNICU Thank you so much. It has been a tough past 3 weeks. Yes, God makes the difference in our lives and is our greatest strength. Last week she occupied herself in making memories in sweet ways, that does help the family heals. Just glad for that. One thing we realized is that this Angelic Baby brought us peace in our hearts that was never there. It’s unexplainable. We will see him again in heaven. Thanks again for your videos. 💙
Thanks for this video! We got introduced to fetalis hydrops in our pathology block during first year of med school but we didn’t talk about the actual mechanisms beyond the etiology.
Thank you Michaela! And thanks for subscribing! We definitely have omphaloceles on our list- but we hadn't thought of mucous fistulas yet! In setting of surgeries or whatever? Thanks for your suggestions- we will add them to the list and get around to them soon- were promise!!
Oh wow- thank you for your lovely words Cristina! Glad that it made sense! Always hard getting balance between how much explanation is helpful! Thank you!
Oh I love that you noticed :) Actually Themby this was all Arianna. Now I'm working on improving the video and audio quality of the videos! (and those boring backgrounds)! Anyway- thanks so much for continuing to watch!
Awesome Dr Tala. Did see that vid on Caput. Thanks indeed. Can I be greedy asking if there is any on SGA and IUGR pl? Enjoying the community tab activities. Brilliant effort by You and team. hats off. Usha from Melbourne
Thank YOU so much Usha. Glad the community questions are interesting enough! Yes- we really need to do a SGA/IUGR video- that's a REALLY good thought- and doesn't have to be too long! Thank you for a great suggestion!
Thanks so much for these great videos and very helpful to help find my feet. In a child or adult, a low or high output cardiac failure would almost always preferentially present as pleural +/- ascitic effusions but rarely pericardial. Does the site of effusions give you any clue as to the aetiology of the hydrops?
That is such a great question. As you know hydrops by definition means fluid in two spaces. So you could make an argument that if it's a GI issue for example- you're more likely to have ascites with something else, or if it's a CPAM, you're more likely to have a pleural effusion with something else. But honestly- often by the time we're diagnosing hydrops- babies have extra fluid everywhere!
Hello! Thanks for your lovely words. We made a short video on caput and cephalohematomas - if you go to the home page you should be able to find it. We definitely need to cover subgaleals though! Thank you!
My baby girl has all areas of fluid build up. Caused by Turner’s syndrome. She always has a very large cystic hygroma. 20 weeks 5 days and her heart is still beating. We opted for natural demise so we can meet her. Difficult journey. My heart hurts for all who have lost their babies. 💔
😢 My son had hydrops. I didn’t know until 33 weeks gestation and had an emergency c-section. He lived for 8 weeks and passed away in the NICU. This was in 2013. I don’t know what caused this condition in my son.
I am so sorry Alisha. That is so heart breaking. It's so awful when we never have a cause. I hope you have found some peace in his memories. 8 weeks too- he fought so hard :(
@@TalaTalksNICU thank you! I took lots of pictures and took care of him any way I could. I got to hold him a couple times. I was there almost every day. He was over an hour away from home, and I had a 2 year old at the time. Now I have a rainbow baby who just turned 7 years old. I’m thankful for her every day and for every day I got to spend with my son.
We have two cardiac videos next and then it will follow- so in about a month. These videos take much longer than we thought they would!!! Thanks for your patience :)
Doctor I lost my baby on 24 th week due to hydrops ...I want to know Did i get a healthy baby next time what can i do for that please help me I am so depressed God give me such a painful situation 😰😰😰🙏
Hi Dr, My baby (26week premature) was stay 45 days at NICU.she died 46th day.Dr said she is perfectly alright at the morning.but suddenly she had a bleeding in her nose and she died after 4 hour.why it's happening?.plz reply me doctor..? (Platelet count 85000 nd hb 9.9 at morning)
Oh Jisna- that is so sad, I'm so sorry for your loss. Obviously I don't know at all what was happening with your baby, but if this were an exam question I'd assume that something made the platelets low- most likely a really bad, unlucky infection or NEC. They come so quickly sometimes, and we can't stop them fast enough. I hope you get the answers you want and find some peace in your future.
@@TalaTalksNICU thank you. She had a infection one week before.on that day infection decreased(.34). She had a little breath problem few moments before her nose bleeding. My bad luck..She was beautiful and very active 😔 Thank u.
Madam I lost my baby due to hydrops at 24 th week ..The report came out and no abnormalities...only my doubt is Rubella igg positive and igm negative...mam I need a rainbow baby please give me suggestions not to happens it again...please give me reply madam😢😢😢😢
I'm so sorry for your loss. If IgM was negative then it is unlikely you had an active rubella infection (may have had in past, or had vaccine). Many mothers have issues in pregnancies which we never figure out and then go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. We wish you peace, luck and health XX
We’re so sorry. Not sure if you got an autopsy- and perhaps there was another reason too? We hope you find your answers and you are able to find some peace in your life
