Since serving as Director of Admissions and Registrar at The Choir College in the late 60s, I've had some wonderful opportunities all over the country in choral music, both as a conductor and professional singer. However, one of the top five experiences in my life was sitting in the front of Princeton Chapel (getting ready to hand out diplomas) and hearing our graduating seniors and underclassmen offer this wonder Warren Martin anthem. Over the years, I've used it in a number of churches where I've serviced as Director of Music. The text is so meaningful, and hearing and seeing it on line again today brought the same tears to my eyes as when I was there in person. The world is a better place today because of men like John Finley Williamson, Warren Martin and all who have taught and/or graduated from WCC.

Attended 3 graduations in this chapel: my MM from Westminster and my husband’s MDiv and ThM from PTS. What a wonderful building to make music in. Thanks be to God for His marvelous gifts!

I have to listen to this every once in a while, and I cry every time I hear it too. I sang it in '62 with the choir. What a powerful number!

I remember performing this in 1994 at Longwood College. Our choir director was an alum of Westminster Choir College. This brought back memories!

This brings back so many wonderful memories of my student days at WCC -- 1969-71 -- our conductor was the late Robert Carwithen and the contralto soloist was the phenomenal voice of Constance Fee. Personally, I think it works better having a single contralto singing that solo part rather than the alto section -- just my opinion. Lest i forget, Joan Lippincott was our accompanist -- on the "old" chapel organ. I wish I could find this recording. Anyone have it and might be able to post on YT?

Wow; didn't realize that Mr. Carwithen had passed. He was my teacher later (1995-2000). I was an older student and most fortunate to have had him! Love my Alma Mater too!

Princeton Chapel is a devilously difficult place to sing. It has a very long delay . Coordinating a piece as complex as this is ALMOST impossible. Keeping your forces together is a mammoth undertaking. Then to record it -- -
That's outside of my knowledge base.

Agree with George Wolffson! And there is a really nasty acoustic problem about half-way down the nave where the sound from the front meets the first echo from the back and actually slows the sound - probably Herr Doppler has his hand in it - and it is wicked to process to during the graduation service entrance. Been there, done that...
