No but u can tell the difference between this album and their other releasees u can tell that they have personally handled this album from the concept to the lyrics to the sound finally yg letting them be the creative artists they are
@Weinandout they’ve had tons of creative freedom ever since the solos tbh. i mean starting with Rosé’s who literally designed her entire album and was a creative director for her album. also writing her solo songs etc etc.
But yg should also credit them.... Cause u know many haters keep barking.. Like they were handed the songs... And didn't help in writing...

I don’t think they’re disbanding yet. Not sure about contract renewal with YG but I can definitely see this as an end to the old Blackpink and a birth to a new era for them. Even with Lisa’s rap in Shutdown, she mentioned “Blackpink in your area, that area been shut down” and Jenlisa closing the steel doors on their DDDD and Boombayah scenes, it all just seems like they’re saying goodbye to THAT Blackpink. This album alone is very different from their old stuff so it all makes sense if they’re taking a new direction with their music. It’s also a great move for them because their girl crush concept has been their brand for far too long and I think other people only associate them with beat drops when we know they can do so much more with their vocals and raps.
Edit: Don’t get me wrong, I love their songs w/ banger beats and they are some of my favorites but this new era of BP is like a breath of fresh air.

@@cheekygizmo4045 I think this was from their Rolling Stones interview a while back because people on Twitter were talking about how Jennie said they will always be Blackpink and it was interpreted as they will stay as a group. But she never confirmed anything about contract renewal. I follow all of their video and magazine interviews and I haven’t seen any of them talk about their contracts specifically. :(

i love the variety in this album, we got shutdown which is a literal diss track to haters, then to an upbeat pop track like yeah yeah yeah, then a straight drop down to depression with the happiest girl. 10/10 album no skips.

Hard to love is my favorite, it holds such a special place in my heart right now and all I want to do is protect and nurture it forever. If that makes sense. The production and adlibs almost makes me tear up too-
a very versatile album. Gave us a little bit of everything. Hard to Love, the Happiest Girl and Tally stand out most. I like the way they ordered the tracklist. When you listen to it in order is what sealed the deal- Honestly this is a good album, I needed a second listen to get into YeahYeahYeah, and Typa Girl. Other than that, this slaps 100%
This is end of era and start of new era
Definitely feels more they're welcoming in a new chapter musically than saying goodbye. The last song is no accident, signalling that they're going from Lovesick Girls to Ready For Love, so I just hope that means they'll be releasing more music - but even if not, I don't think they're done at all, this is just the beginning for them
I think this is not a disbandment it's a reborn of their style. How they give us things we didn't expect they will give us.

Im certain they aren’t going anywhere. “SHUT DOWN”seems to be their way of saying, “Look forward to the era of BP”. The MV, is basically a goodbye to the old Blackpink, & dawning in, the NEW Blackpink. They are in a “storage facility”. Each container, holds a song, & an era. The act of SHUTTING DOWN the doors on it. Means they are leaving behind the old, they are doing a final shut down on the past songs, records, awards, haters, & drama, of each era.
When they go UP the elevator, they leave behind their past successes. They then enter into a NEW, EMPTY facility. Meaning, a new beginning, new songs, new eras, new drama, & a new Blackpink. MORE CONTENT, to fill up those empty containers. Blackpink ain’t going nowhere. We still have Jisoo’s solo, & there are rumors that the girls ARE RENEWING their contract. So let’s just look forward to the era of Blackpink.

Personally I think YG will have them resign again. We have thier world tour coming up from Oct onwards. They still have a lot in store so we'll be seeing them with more freedom hopefully.

Now some say BIG4(YG, SM , JYPE,HYBE) but originally it was/is BIG3(YG,SM,JYPE). The thing with YG entertainment is that they have great production , did the right thing at the right moment which helped them to grow big and all that but truth be told they don't have the potential to carry big groups together while looking after the newer ones. Other wise 2ne1 would have still been here with BP.
I don't think it's a goodbye...then again I do hear what you are saying, also next year is the end of their contract with YG, so maybe it's the end with YG.

To be honest... Out of 10 Black Pink songs in my playlist, 5 songs are from this album. I have no expectation that blackpink will put out a lot of songs on their album. But the songs from this album exceeded my expectations.

I liked the album, however, I wanted to hear more songs in korean as well as Jennie rapping a bit more. Hearing Lisa rap the most, AGAIN, is really tiring for me, especially when she has a really good vocal range!! As an OT4 fan, i want all of them to shine where they're most talented. And Jennie is a main rapper so, why aren't they letting her have that spotlight? And if i understand correctly, I recall Lisa saying that she wanted to sing more. So, what gives? So proud of Rosie's solo btw, and I needed more Jisoo on the tracks this year... She had a lot during the previous album, I'm just trying to figure out why this album just wasn't... Idk, it's my least favorite for me... Still love it!!! Just a bit disappointed really.... At least they're breaking barriers of speech and letting them cuss ig (that was one hell of a shock- but ig after Lisa's 'Money' it's to be expected-) but uh... yeah... Disappointed.

chaesoo fucking ate. no crumbs. not one. typa girl is my favorite. I just wish they had more songs... I can't tell if they're splitting up or not at this point but it seems like they had more creative control on this album and it sounds more authentic to them than their earlier works.

In all honesty, I don’t think it’s goodbye to us Blinks, I think they might leave YG. I’m not sure but it’s a possibility. YG has not been a good company for a long while and even tho yg stepped down as ceo from his own mistakes, The company is still not caring enough about their artists and giving them more promotions. I honestly as a blink, want them to leave yg, not disband tho. I definitely don’t think they are disbanding anytime soon. It might be like what GOT7 did.
