Adris dream recorder is a renaissance style recorder in soft wood. Build for playing in a different style of music than the Moeck. I love mine and use it for folk, renaissance and medieval music. I also love my barok style hard wood Mollenhauer but I use it differently.
Μου άρεσε πολύ η ελληνική μουσική, Νίκο! It's nice to see you making videos again. Thanks for showcasing the Mollenhauer. I've had my eye on it for a while and I'm glad to have an audio reference for its sound now. Σε ευχαριστώ πολύ!
I have tried a plastic Mollenhauer Adri's dream 0119r today. The sound is beautiful, still: I couldn't play C, C# and D of the 2nd octave and I had troubles with A, B and Bb of the same octave. I have never had this trouble with Aulos and Yamaha instruments. That seems strange to me.
Woo, this was a useful one! I like the clean tone of the moeck one a lot. I dunno if I'll be able to play the dream one if it needs more air lol. I also really luv the houseplant situation you have goin' on! It's kinda hard to tell but what are those? Is there a hoya in there?
Hi, thank you for the comparison. Can the dream recorder be used to play Baroque pieces? I refer both to the soprano and alto fream recorders. I also would like to know if playing the dream recorder is not harder than playing the rottenburgh, because of the bigger holes, the 7th fixed hole (more so in the alto), and the need to blow more air.
@@nickperpirakis2211 lol I didn't get the recorder I mentioned... I had an issue with certain company, however, I received a refund today so I plan to buy the following: Moeck Rottenburgh Alto Recorder and Mollenhauer Dream Soprano Recorder.
Question about higher notes. I have a pearwood Dream Soprano, and I have a VERY hard time hitting notes starting with the third octave C. I am a beginner, so I'm pretty sure it's my technique. But I have seen several reviews of the Dream Soprano, and no one (I think) demonstrates playing notes above two octaves. I am trying to find out: is it me or the recorder? I have a Mollenhauer pearwood Baroque soprano recorder and can play the C and D in the third octave. I can play the C on the pearwood Dream Soprano, but it's loud and harsh. I cannot even sound the third octave C and D on the plastic Dream Soprano.
It is exactly as you described it. Dream Flute is not the best instrument for the 3rd octave. If I have to play such notes I use my Baroque instrument (a moeck Rottenburgh).
@@nickperpirakis2211 Thank you for responding. I was actually getting discouraged because I thought I was doing something wrong. I can tell it's a nice recorder from hearing people like you play it, but I needed some realistic assessment of its limits.
I bought the 4119 and was not impressed. I switched to the yamaha ecodear soprano and was able to play notes more in tune and reach the higher notes much easier.
To my ear, the Dream has a somewhat huskier sound, which I happen to like. I know it's not what most recorder players are looking for.
I love how light and tension free your fingers are and how they just barely rise and not too much and fall back like a switch
I just recently bought a Moeck 4205 soprano in palisander. I like it a lot. Thanks for your video!
Hands down the Moeck for me! Such a focussed tone.

Grazie. Molto preciso il confronto! Finale da applauso 🙂
I love this comparisons. I liked both but the Moeck sounds better to my ears. I wish I had both. Lovely playing as usual.
Thank you very much!
Nice to hear the Greek folk music excerpts!
Haha 💙glad you liked it
Excellent video comparison and really nice playing, thank you for posting it. Subscribed. Nice backdrop filmed next to a open sunny window
Thank you very much ☺️ Greetings from Greece

Could you compare the yamaha's plastic 300 series with the Moeck's Rottenburghs? That would be very nice.
Yes it will be one of my next videos ☺️

I am still waiting for my Moeck Flauto Rondo Alto Recorder in Stained Maple:)
cool ☺️

Could someone give me a good link for a decent moeck?? Id really like to get into playing and need somewhere to start
Hello, what is the name of the song that you played as the Medieval example?

Great playing! How long have you been playing? Did you study at a conservatory?
Thank you ☺️ I’ve been playing the recorder since 2017. I didn’t studied it at the conservatory, but I had som private lessons for a couple of years.
I'll take the Moeck Rottenburgh.
Have you ever tried to play any modern music like "Havana" by Camila Cabello ?
Yes 😎🍹
I have never seen anyone play on youtube or anywhere else a Yamaha wood recorder. Are they that bad?
I really don’t know 😅
Sarah Jeffery plays a Yamaha wooden soprano recorder on some of her videos. I think she considers it a favorite.
🐑Expensive recoder.
Burgh is simply better. No doubt.
