I enjoyed your Celebration Recap. I attended as VIP and as an attendee of each Celebration since 2017, I too was concerned with how this was going to flow logistically and pan out. I agree that the roll-out information kept us in the dark, so that was daunting. However, once inside of the actual experiment and navigating the day-to-day activities, it was not as daunting as it seemed as I looked at the schedule the night before and took it one piece at a time. I enjoyed the unreleased music content, unseen footages, concerts, panel discussions, The Movie, the Broadway Play info, the Gospel Brunch, the new Talents of Taj and Jordan Johnson and surprisingly the boat ride. Overall, I enjoyed what I got for the price I paid considering the POV that Mr. Christopher pointed out, that I've paid close to the same amount for two Queen Bey tickets for one night, so thank you for that reminder 🙂

Jeff, "That bike" is the very first motorcycle I ever rode/operated, back in 1985 after the Purple Rain tour came to a close. That ride, from the rehearsal warehouse out 35W to HondaTown, hooked me. I've been riding (my own) motorcycle(s) ever since...

Chris, I'm a lifelong Minneapolis native and for decades I have had the same complaint about the roads in inclement weather as you. FIGURE OUT A WAY TO ADD REFLECTORS!!!

Think they should focus on quality over quantity. Maybe shorten Celebration to 3 days and tighten up schedules.

IT IS THEIR JOB TO MANAGE! And to have people to ensure that the experience that THEY ARE SELLING is going as smoothly as possible. NO ONE was manning the experience. You have ZERO clue about how events work. The ESTATE IS hiring the vendors and venues, it is the ESTATE'S responsibility to manage it- with STAFF members at every experience to make sure the fans are getting what they pay for. STOP KISSING THEIR ASSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Exactly! This was the same issue last year. Why wasnt this fixed this year? Again mismanagement from the Estate!

When you said that "Jerome was asked to be there", did you also mention that Jerome was given a contract to sign less than 2 weeks before the start of the event?
That was not enough time to address/fix any concerns Jerome may have had with the contract, assuming Paisley had any willingness or capability to address any concerns.
As you said, there are always two sides to a story. It seems rather unfair for you to imply that Jerome not being there is because of Jerome being uncooperative/uppity.
Many attendees of Celebration needed longer than 2 weeks notification for their employers to grant time off...but Jerome was expected to sign up in less than two weeks??
Morris is performing in a few days, post-Celebration, as "Morris Day & The Time", which implies he will have his own band. Yet at Celebration, NPG was backing him up (with zero choreography assistance) as a stand-in band.
Throw in the fact that The Revolution booked First Avenue for Friday & Saturday months before, and that Paisley came in late to latch onto them, and it really seems clear that Paisley was ill-prepared for this 40th Anniversary. They were late all the way around, and the failures proved that there was a lack of adequate planning.
Jerome's statement, coupled with Morris' lack of his band, the downtown caterer who had nothing set up, the conflicting times of the VIP tour with the discussion panel, the printed schedules that were late & had misprints, do not show a quality top-level tourist destination. Instead, it shows a leadership team that is taking this event backwards.
All the rah-rah can be had without charging people money. This event has been going on for nearly 10 years now...there could actually have been more bang in our bucks had Paisley started locking things down for this anniversary several months ago, if not years.
We could have had Jerome there. His being "asked" was not the full story. Paisley dropped the ball, evidenced by all the other balls dropped that we saw.
No excuses. Minneapolis has a huge & experienced Convention & Visitors Bureau that knows how to do this stuff. And whoever did the 2019 Celebration (that had The Revolution performing at Paisley) knows how to do this.
The current leadership at Paisley does not know how to do this.

Literally do not disagree with anything you've said here. We had Jerome on the show the week prior and I asked him offline if he was going to be attending and at that time he mentioned that he hadn't been asked. So even your "2 weeks notice" comment is long. If he was approached, it was under 2 weeks. According to JB. We also reported on the Revolution situation and they were booked long before, which was revealed directly by Brown Mark on our Facebook page.
There are a lot of details we were privy to but did not divulge here since we couldn't get the full story from both sides.

Uhhh, add airfare, hotel stay FOR 5 DAYS. Forgot about that as well? On top of a overpriced ticket.
