  • If I could pick my own personality type I would pick to be ENTJ.
ENTJs, also known as the commander, are natural-born leaders. They are ambitious, assertive, and blunt. They rely on their sense of humor, fueled by their tertiary function, Extroverted Sensing (Se), to ingratiate themselves to others. Their dominant function, Extraverted Thinking (Te), confers a strong work orientation. Te seeks to impose order, rationality, and efficiency on the world and its operations. ENTJs can also maintain a clear vision of the whole system with their Auxiliary function, Introverted Intuition (Ni), including its hierarchical structure and the interrelations of its constituent parts. Their proficiency with seeing both the big picture and its specifics makes ENTJs masters of strategy, wit, and planning.
Dominant: Te (extroverted Thinking) is the primary way that ENTJs interact with the world around them. It encourages them to be efficient, get things done and make logical decisions in the moment. ENTJs are known for being harsh, critical, intense and driven individuals. They are pragmatic, straightforward, and matter-of-fact, sometimes erring on the side of brutally honest. ENTJs will be primarily concerned about how much is getting done versus how well it’s getting done. This personality tends to focus on achieving an end goal. ENTJ personality may rebel against anyone’s attempt to control them, especially if the “goal” being forced upon them is deemed wrong or inefficient.
Auxiliary: Ni (iNtroverted intuition) means that ENTJs are able to see 10 steps ahead and predict what might happen in the future. It also allows the ENTJ to access many parts of their brain to find solutions. ENTJs won’t focus heavily on the individual details, but rather the goal as a whole.
Tertiary: Se (extroverted iNtuition) is the cognitive function that means the ENTJ craves new experiences and ideas. They can use their details and knowledge gathered from previous experiences, to create plans for new and exciting things. ENTJs might enjoy breaking rules, especially if they feel too controlled, and will feel a need for a certain level of impulsiveness in their life.
Inferior: Fi (introverted Feeling) helps ENTJs to assess situations and see how they match up to their beliefs. This cognitive function allows them to be sensitive to the values and feelings of those around them. ENTJs may desire to make deep, emotional connections with others, yet feel unable to do so, and as result, suppress their Fi, since it makes them feel inferior. This is the main reason why unhealthy ENTJs can seem almost anti-emotion. Healthy low Fi is the reason ENTJs can set aside emotion and ignore any attempts by others to manipulate them while they do what is best for themselves or those close to them. This personality should easily remain resolute in spite of any opposition. Fi is also very insecure about displaying any kind of weakness, which is why they’ll tend to hide whatever they perceive as weakness, only wanting to show their best self to the world.
