Planet of the Apes was always about humans vs apes, it's not the actors' ideas.

i got to rewatch the first one. i forget why did the virus have a negative effect on humans. was it because the virus went through the ape metabolism first, and then mutated? if i remember, the virus was made to enhance human brain function.
