  • We went on a 4-day trip with our BMW GS1250 Adventure. The second stop was the famous Passo dello Stelvio. Beautiful nature and roads, many bikers and beautiful cars.

Well, a typical "GS 1250" clip.
My related "Adventure" tip would be: Slash the "S" (in GS 1250) and divide the number by 4. You'll end up with a (BMW) G310. That would be a perfect bike for right hand bends/hairpins. Lightweight, easy to maneuver, and you would not have to corner in almost idle mode 😊.
Ride like a pro, stay alive.

Thank you for your comment. I don´t know if you ever drove on Stelvio, from video it looks much easier as really is. I was there for the first time, this is what it looked like. The traffic allows you nothing more that be very careful - cars, caravans, buses, cyclists. And are wrong about G310 - good bike, but this is bike for people who drive 200-300km radius from home, alone, not with top and side boxes and +1 person. Have a nice day!

@@adv_bumblebee Yes, I'm going up and down Stelvio at least 3x per year. Since 7 years. But with different kinds of bikes: SuperSports (Ducati Panigale), Cruiser (Harley Road King), Supermoto (Ducati 939), Naked (Honda CB), Adventure (Suzuki V-Strom). Why do I mention all the bikes? I had to adapt my riding style with each bike, sometimes just a bit, sometimes drastically :D
So... I know how it feels to ride different kinds of bikes on the Stelvio.
Btw: Passo dello Spluga - if you are not enforced to do the detour on the Italian side - is much more challenging than Stelvio (and Umbrail). Particularly with lots of oncoming traffic in hairpins which deserve this name. On the other hand it could be a lot of fun to pass those guys on big bikes with tons of electronic gadgets and helpers like quickshifters/blippers... with a good riding style. Really priceless.
      All the best!

Your driving lines are such a horror. Every right curve you are on the orher side. Be happy that there was no traffic.
And that with one of the easiest bikes to drive...

And one of the hardest roads to drive on. Have you ever been there? What is your experience?

@@adv_bumblebee I am driving there 2 or 3 times a year and every other pass in the dolomites, the swiss and french alps.
But you are not alone with the driving line. I see around 80% driving your way. But it is dangerous for you and other people. I don´t know, if you are too fast in the curves or something else.
It´s possible, that you need more lean or use more the handlebar.
Look at 9:30 at the video the GS in front of you. Oh my goodness! Something like your way and now think, that there is a car, and than?
And than on 18:10. What are you doing there? Luck?
      20:40, next driver... Oh god...
If I would come with my sportcar downside, you were all lying on my car. But the pain were on your side, if something is happening.

@@ankabo76 18:10 this was completely my fault, I decided wrong to go there. We were for the first time here, so thats the reason why we rode so wide, in most situation like this we were aware there is no other car on the other side. But as I mentioned in different video, this road was something completely new for me. I have many years to train, step by step :)

Deine Frage zeigt mir, dass du genauso fährst und seinen Fahrstil auch noch gut findest.
