    In episode 25, Ash called Professor Oak to brag about how he had just gotten his fourth badge the previous episode and Oak told him that Gary and the two unidentified Pallot Town trainers had already gotten five badges, including the Rainbow Badge that Ash wouldn't receive until the following episode. To me, that implies that they hadn't given up yet by that point.

    • @XX-sp3tt
      @XX-sp3tt 2 года назад +2

      They likely hadn't given up until the writers decided they'd served their purpose of being ahead of Ash, and all evidence in the show pointed to them being perfectly competent.

    Why not do a theory on why Professor Oak only had three Pokemon for four trainers. Pikachu wasn't set to go and Ash had to beg Oak to get Pikachu. Also, why only four trainers? Does each region/town or whatever have a limit on how many kids they can have per year just to make sure that there's only 3 or 4 10 year olds a year?

  • @MegaSonicViper
    @MegaSonicViper 9 лет назад +2

    ProtoMario, thank you for that Pokemon theory. Very well thought out. I have a theory that I would like to see you talk about. Here it is. In order for a trainer to compete in the Pokemon League, they need to win a total of 8 gym badges. Ash was able to acquire all 8 badges in Kanto; however, Gary did not win the Earth Badge from the Viridian City Gym, but managed to get three badges to have 10 badges. Where did Gary go to get a total of 10 badges?

  • @deviousj5868

    They said she was based off Lass/ The trainer in the manual. She was supposed to be a playable female character kins of like how we can choose male or female now. The data was soo low they didn't get to implement that until Crystal. Lastly I remember hearing that in the OG Japanese theme there were lyrics that said "You can find Pokémon anywhere even under a girls skirt." Something along those lines with the girl saying "Hey!" While Pikachu ran underneath her.

  • @TheNLGw68

    If damian lived in pallet town which is quite small, Ash would have known him when they met. As professor Oak is the regional professor who gives the starter pokemons Damian could have been living in another town, and that he skipped Brook and went to cerulion instead. As in the episode where they meet Damian Brook did not recognise him.

    "She was cut so children would not be confused as to who she was".
    Sounds ironic to me because with how much the anime breaks continuity, Pikachu's level reseting and somehow forgetting Volt Tackle, Ash forgetting a lot his own tactics/battle style when entering a new region and not seeing his old Pokemon more often, I'm more confused about the anime now than when I first started watching it.

    Gary wasn't the first trainer to get his Pokemon, he was the 3rd. The fact that he was the last person to enter the Lab before Ash, and there was only one Pokémon left after he chose his proves this.
    After Damien chose his Charmander, Gary grabbed Squirtle to spite him whilst knowing he could have chosen Pikachu instead. It's in Gary's nature to pick the Pokémon which is super effective against the last guy to chose his Pokémon.

    ironically even though ash was the last trainer out of the 4 trainers to leave pallet town he's the only 1 who never quits being a pokemon trainer as stated in both the episode showdown at the poke corral and this video the other 2 trainers besides ash and Gary both quit first due to a lack of skill and as stated by 1 of this videos earlier comments professor oak states to ash in primeapes debut episode that Gary and the other 2 trainers had 5 badges meaning the other 2 trainers at the very least obtained 5 badges before quitting.and after ash defeated Gary in the johto league Gary retires from being a trainer to become a pokemon researcher just like professor oak.

    the mystery woman in the intro sequence could be an inside easteregg by the creators. Maybe they had an idea they were forced to abandon, could be due to the lack of memory space on the game boy cart or time or money. Let's say they did initially create 2 rivals, one for every pokemon prof. oak had to offer. That third pokeball does look pretty lonely.

    • @joshuaarmstrong2445
      @joshuaarmstrong2445 8 лет назад

      +Joshua Armstrong Maybe this mystery girl in the into is the girl in the picture with her hand on the squirtle is just a conceptual thing for promotional stuff? Maybe promo girl was actually just a cut idea for the player to pick their gender? It's probably the former, she was just a filler for promo stuff, like that cool image. The other palette town trainers were probably never even developed at all.

    • @winnkey
      @winnkey 9 лет назад +2

      Omar A Here comes the confusingness.
      -First released in japan was Red and Green, So the two male characters are called Red and Green (this is why the remakes are red and green, and not red and blue).
      -Blue was released in japan much how crystal was released for silver and gold. The girl was then unofficially dubbed as Blue in japan (and thus called that in the manga).
      -Pokemon blue was then imported to English but split between two games ( Blue and Red) As the original green was not released having the rival character be named Green made little sense and so was then in the English release changed to Blue.
      -Then the manga was released in english. As the rival in english has always been seen as Blue, it made sense to keep that naming convention, and so the female trainer got her name changed from Blue, to green.
      - SOOOOOooo. To sum it up, she started off named Blue, and in japan is still called blue. But everywhere else in the world she is called Green.

    • @QuickWolfmask
      @QuickWolfmask 9 лет назад

      winnkey I think you mean by "everywhere else in the world," English, French, and German countries... Because the girl is still called Blue and the boy is still called Green in the Korean, Thai, and Chinese translations of the manga, just like it is in Japanese. (Basically, it's a Western / Eastern world naming difference.)

    She kinda looks like Toko... but sort of has the innocent look of Rosa...
    In the Gen 5 games did they/you move to Unova from another region?
    Or maybe it's an early version of Leaf!

    Hey I posted this kinda late on a pass video so don't know if you looked at it but I was wondering what happen to your trainer in pokemon black and white meaning in black and white 2 cheren and the other girl was there but it never explained what happen to the other one your trainer problem is there is almost no information to make this into a theory but it's worth a shot maybe

    Er, there are wild bulbasaur in that episode with the garden loads of bulbasaurs are evolving at once. I don't think Damian is the other trainer because when ash caught his seventh Pokemon it automatically transported to oaks lab. If he was one of the four he couldn't have had all those Pokemon at once

    What about the 2 mystery women were replaced by Brock and Misty accompanying Ash? It DOES explain their similar artwork design and accompany Ash

    Doesn't Damian say "I'm the one that caught it" in reference to charmander? Implying that it was this starter

    That trainer could been Pikachu's ritual trainer

    well, if Ash's Bulbasaur and Charmander were released by the mystery woman and Damian, respectively, wouldn't Oak recognize the Pokemon? and they would certainly be able to recognize him, don't you think?

    Did you not even try googling who she was before dismissing her as ''mystery woman''? Pretty sure it's just some random person that was never meant to be somebody, but whose existence was still necessary thanks to the lyrics of the Japanese theme song. The line went something like: Where will I find my next Pokemon? The mountains, the ocean, the forest, under that girl's skirt?

    One I'm sure everyone asks: Why can you never catch any of the three starter pokemon within the region you're given them? Gameplay-wise you obviously don't want people just catching the other two starters within the same game, but what is the in-world explanation for why beginning traders only ever get imported, exotic pokemon?

    The first girl that appears is just a Lass from Fire Red, coincidence because both are based generation 1. To be honest the girl looks more like the Lass from pokemon stadium because both have a (tie) (Scarf) not sure what she's wearing,

    I think that the other two trainers are red and green ( female protagonist ) and this is some alternate universe where red sucks really bad so he never made it on to become the legend that we all know him as

    I don't think Damien was one of the other trainers. I just feel that since pallet town is depicted as a small place everyone knows everyone and if Damien was from pallet town ash would know who he was at least when they met up.

    The pokemon itself is the story inside the mind of the girl.
