- In this video I made 2 fantasy/medieval style wigs using two types of acrylic chunky yarns. This is a non-brush technique, but it does not compromise the quality and gives more textured look to the wig (in my opinion). Quick and easy too!

Reminds me of mermaid hair with the pretty beads. A rainbow 🌈 coloured yarn would be super fabulous 😃

so chunky yarn like that with the thread is called boucle yarn! It can be used great for doll hair (as you've done) but for anyone who wants nice curly textured hair for cheap look into boucle yarn!

I think I may have made a successful yarn wig!..it isn't dry yet and still looks a bit like a red sheep but you can't see the joints at the top... I will stick a picture and my Facebook thingie up ... I tried arranging it and it looks ok lol!... I can usually mess the simplest thing up but I really think your tutorial worked lol!...your tutorials are great it's my lack of ability and coordination that's the problem!

I tracked down the doll I fell in love with.. she's gorgeous and is called Xiazhi or maybe it's a two part name..anyhoo..she's about 500 dollars plus and is an SD 1 believe 62 cm tall...omg she is gorgeous! I don't think Angell Studio makes her anymore but there's one that looks exactly like her on the site! I am going to be saving my pennies like mental because you were right when you said it was addictive... I know what people feel about copies now....it's weird but when you find the "grail" doll as they say, you don't really want copies floating around... I have done a complete 360° turnaround.. actually I still don't think people should be overly interested in what others spend their money on. It's like the doll Youcef gave me at Christmas. I wanted to show her off but the whole recast thing is so overpowering and I wouldn't question my partner S to where he bought my Xmas present... I just wasn't brought up like that...lol... I am 100% sure that he wouldn't know where to get a legitimate doll and he was so thrilled at himself for actually thinking about getting me a doll and that made me really happy...just seeing him happy...you know what I mean....but the doll of my dreams appears and, luckily, she's not available so I have had to think about it and I find I feel territorial or something about this doll!...lol... I want to post her wearing some of the stuff I have been making so she can't be an offence to everyone who is likely to buy... I think I will keep the dolls I use it I do post stuff for sale, as vinyl unimportant dolls that nobody gets offended about.... that's safest! Anyway I am off to watch this video of yours...funny you posted this subject because I was looking exactly for this only yesterday!

Me too with white glue I use tons...to hell with ModPodge!
Of course me being a total idiot thought I would have to do all sorts of complicated braids to attach the dreads to... I sometimes wonder about myself lol!

I think you should enjoy your dolls: recast or not. It is nobody's business, but yours. I am against the recast/legit drama and bullying in the hobby, our consciousness should be our only judge. The doll you received as a gift is a doll for you to enjoy. Full stop. You need to start showing your dolly collection and things you've made on your chanel :) Please :)
I have been making a Facebook page and I am almost finished with the dioramas for them so I will put them up soon...You will be the first to know! I get annoyed at the recast thing too... I don't think half the people who bully others about recasts have any idea about how China is. I know that All dolls don't come from China but the China BJD store sounds suspiciously State run to me.... I don't think they would have a choice in China... it's not that long since the *one child rule" was being policed in the most barbaric way. I think people imagine some entrepreneur in China laughing and rubbing his hands at all the money he will be making.... I know most people have no concept of Red China but I do and I think they're jumping onto the recast bullying bandwagon without even understanding how businesses operate in China. I have told a couple of people to cool it about the recast thing...of course I would never support someone ripping off one of those Russian girls who make dolls and I can see the point there but some of the companies like Volks for instance, seem big enough to look after themselves but I see them giving dolls to influencers to keep the recast message going. I don't support this or any kind of organised witch hunting.

Lol I am sorely tempted by all the dolls in the sale with free shipping... I think my other half will have a fit at more boxes arriving though! Omg my cat is driving me nuts...she doesn't get outside except for the roof/balcony so when her brother died a few years ago, of a congenital heart defect, I was scared to get her spayed. It's such a huge operation for female cats compared to the snip that males get. Anyway she's on heat and she doesn't know what is going on and she keeps bumping me with her head...she doesn't do much except vocalise and roll around like a big daft teddy Bear...but she bumps me with her head which is annoying while crafting...your cat seems so well behaved in comparison lol!

May I ask what type of glue you are using to stick the yarn ?
I use all purpose glue "UHU".
