My aunt (now passed) used to sing this song to me as a little girl. Now, fourteen years after she passed, this song brings me to tears. Cloud Cult rocked it... Doing justice to an awesome song
i found Cloud Cult at a time in my life when i was dealing with the death of my sister, and somehow..it lifted me to a better place. Now, having lost my daughter in June of this year, as she was one weak from being 6 months old...the songs that he has written about Kaiden, and how it made him feel..have brought me so much comfort. and joy. and resolution. They Live On The Sun is my anthem album. This song, is so incredibly beautiful.
It's not on any of their albums. I had heard them play it live before so I tried to find it and I believe this is a live recording from their performance at SXSW.
They songs from "They lived on The Sun" were written during Craig's Depression. During this time, Craig (song written/lead singer) kept himself in a cabin, while Connie (his wife, and band artist) stayed in the woods. For 2 years, they kept themselves isolated, and this was their way ofdealing with the loss.
Have you heard their newest album "Light Chasers" or their song "Step Foward"? From listening to them, you can tell that Craig and Connie have "Stepped Foward" and the songs are honoring Kaiden and the short life he lived. Also, These saddest Cloud Cult song ever (even saddest then the album "They Live on the Sun") is Sleepy/Sleeping Days, and yes, he does sing about Kaidan. You can find these songs on RUclips.

the most beautiful version ever....
So many sad stories written below my comment..
So sad, so unfair to lose your beloved ones...
If you buy their DVD, this song is included with it. And it's great.
wow never heard this before but i love it!
Most his songs about his son are sad, and sot of hopeful. This is the one that's not sad.
I love the Appalachian and Celtic roots:)
This song really stands out from the rest of their songs. Maybe that's why it's not on an album.
Still listening in 2019!
2020 boi
But when I woke up
You were made of sunrise
Can I hold you in my dreams?
-My brain has overwritten the original version of this song.
Have you heard their newest album "Light Chasers" or their song "Step Foward"?
