When you watch the band videos Dan comes across as the serious enigmatic one. It's so cool to see him in interviews he is just as funny as Justin just in a more straight line way.
They mention 'The Emperor's New Clothes' and _"Dressed up in the emperor's old clothes"_ ended up in the lyrics on 'Rock And Roll Deserves To Die' from Easter is Cancelled, which is an incredible album.
I think dynamic-wise as band members, yes. Although being brothers, they're a bit cozier with each other. Freddie and Brian were friends who respected each other as colleagues above all else. I think when you're brothers in a healthy relationship there's a lot of joshing each other and when one of you does good you cheer, "Yeah, that's my brother doing that."
Oh oh oh ooof. Best bit: 15.15 when Justin fiddles with his braces, then remembers the camera, then belches. It takes a special man to make that sequence of events so adorable ❤️
Hahahaha Sophie! The Darkness were my favourite band as a teenager. I'm so happy you've interviewed them, I'm crying with laughter. They've changed so much since I was in high school.. As you would hope everybody would.. But still, Justin in a hair turban. Everything about this interview is 11/10, they seem exactly the same, personality-wise, as day 1. Bloody fab babe xxx
This is without doubt one of the most ridiculous interviews I've ever seen...love it! 😆 They do very convincing Yorkshire accents for a bunch of guys from Lowestoft (Dan actually sounded a bit like Joe Elliott). My other take-away is that in future when people are being a pain in the arse, I'll just tell them to stop being such a vent. 😉
Damn, Justin looks rough here! Obviously it's before he got his new teeth, but he looks like John Frusciante during his heroin years. I know Justin was also on heroin and other hard drugs, but not sure when? He looks like an addict here though. He's so much healthier now that he's clean/sober. It's not easy being sober! Geting clean is one thing, but staying clean is a whole other demon you need to tame!
If your 30 and over and you never heard of these guys you lived in the cellar. The most hyped band of all time. Their record company wanted rock to be on top in the worst way. I think the hype machine cost the band most of their money. I love the band.
Yeh kinda childish, interviewer had zero control and direction. Darkness can be funny, but this was a bit irritating to watch, u need to have more than 4 seconds of substance.
Hi Dean, so sorry you didn't enjoy it. It's hard to win/please everyone with interviews. In the past when I've had an artist that's gone off in tangents and gone down a funny route, and I've brought it back to the music or tried to reign it in, people have commented saying they wish I'd let them carry on they believe I'm there to listen and encourage them to communicate however they wish. It's a tricky one, but like I said I'm sorry this didn't make you smile x
Many fans prob enjoyed it Sophie, just a bit too much nonsense for me at 6-7min mark, I don't blame you entirely, the playfulness nature of the guys def came thru, and agreed, sometimes you have no choice but to run with it. Like they say tho, never read a review : )
@@SophieEggleton I enjoyed this interview a lot. Justin obviously felt safe with you while not being in a good state as it seems (so skinny..😕). 6:06 he uses words like squirm, anguish and emotional hardships with regard to interviews. Best decision to leave it all up to them and just heaving fun.

This is my favorite interview with Dan and Justin, along with part 2. Sophie did a great job, she brought out the best of both of them.

Justin reminds me of Freddie Mercury and Dan reminds me of Brian May

Their well developed sense of humour is reflected in their music and videos.
Great fun, great rock `n roll.

Justin looks like a naughty little Bee.
Aww the Hawkins brothers... lovely to see them.
my heart skips a beat everytime justin stared at the camera😂
2022 is the year I feel in love with Justin - better late than never
@@bronniem5884 We are all back in love with him.
Yes! Me too! Man he's adorable and witty.

bitterbetterbegonia Haha, glad you enjoyed it. They are funny chaps aren't they! If only all interviewees were as fun as this! xx

Hi Sophie! I am watching this one again for the fifth time - my all time fave interview! Love your work!! X
o m gawd. Dan is gorgeous and amazing!
sound interview, love these lads, the new album is amazing.
Love The Darkness
Someone get the man another smoothie before he licks the cup :D
I was crying with laughter during the “vent” talk
Apparantly the "Nothern accent" is the Darkness doing an impression of Rik Mayall doing his Nottingham accent.
That looks like the Gibson Artists lounge in London
The Darkness biology class
ok dan whats your secret?....you've never aged!
It's seven years later and he still hasn't started aging. It's got to happen sometime, doesn't it?
everybody’s peacocking, brilliant
I focused too much on the interviewer.. love the Darkness!
If only the Gallaghers gone on so well.
good intervieuw with great guys ! Love it ! thanks ! XX
+Rob Gross Thanks Rob! xx
Anyone know what the riff is at the beginning it’s quality . Love this band ...
I was thinking to meself..wow she is really adorable but she was too busy undressing Dan with her eyes to ever notice me even if I was there
Can you post a link to part 2 please? Great interview :)
Rosalind Alexander sure just exporting the interview now - Will be on this channel by tomorrow xx
Please be kind and excuse my ignorance... But what does it mean to be a "vent"?
This looks like the Gibson artist rooms
Good spot! That’s where we filmed it x
Sophie Eggleton that’s a wicked place to hang out
name of the song at the beginning of the video?
She literally sounds exactly like Sophie Turner
I have an interview with her on my channel. When we speak together you can notice how different our voices are. Hers is a lot nicer tbh!
I fell in love with the interviewer
Good Lord above, I just realized this is your channel, sorry. So I fell in lovwe with you
Well that's very nice of you. Thanks for watching xx
its funny how they were called the Darkness.....before the darkness........bring back british music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol allot of americans prob don't even understand that northern England is a totally different accent
Is he wearing braces?
yep
@@bronniem5884 Else his trousers would fall down...

He was on cocaine in the early 2000s. Don't think he did heroin.
