My personal, & admittedly rather atypical & outlying, thoughts on the Vietnam War notwithstanding, you'd think we wouldn't NEED that many bombs in order to save just 16 people.
Originally it was a diversions mission. Something to distract the nva and vc from a certain area. The recovery of the Intel made it necessary to retrieve the team.
All that matters is they saved them . Reasons and methods be dammed. Those men got back and that’s all I care about . Besides it shouldn’t surprise you at all . There wasn’t anything like the smart weapons we have today .. and .. well the more ordnance used the more money the military industrial complex made lol .
But Americans are actually willing to fight and die for each other. Unlike Canadians. They won't even fight to keep their own rights. Bunch of cowards.

Not so. They sent a four ship of F-16C's to strafe the militants, thinking that it was a protest about a video. Later it was thought to be an actual terrorist attack. Marines and contractors were called up from Rota Spain, and there was no in country team to help the Americans in Benghazi which was over in under an hour. Not every democrat is a traitor.

It's a shame. At minute 5 of the video, a CH 47 is shown on screen as your narrator is talking about the CH 53 Sea Stallion. I would think that accuracy is important to the point of this video.
I wanted to comment on your new video in hopes you may see this I would like to see you make a video on the creepy red light night vision goggles from Vietnam and the demon stories if you can find any information about it!!
If it were Fox,they would say it never happened.”Fake news”,you know? Or they would tell you that Trump was one of the stranded Green Berets that was rescued.
look how they killed civilians and what not without any knowledge for what they were in vietnam other than the fact they were getting paid for this. today you make videos about them to make them famous
Oh yeah, it turns out that the only thing that apache helicopters couldn't beat, it was bamboo bikes in the jungle. What; we don't have any wood seeking missiles?
2 years after I left FOB2. And the Yards. Warriors, bless them.
Another bad ass video love your show and the history you deep dive into for us. Keep it up, bro great work
Where have you all been? Happy New Year and y'all take a vacation? Get to work guys, we miss your videos!
Unbelievable valor and courage.
Just another war crime ! Randomly dropping all those bombs! Ffs
Wow, I just watched a great documentary on the Super Stallion and how the Navy and Marines have trouble keeping those "53's" in the air.
My personal, & admittedly rather atypical & outlying, thoughts on the Vietnam War notwithstanding, you'd think we wouldn't NEED that many bombs in order to save just 16 people.
Depends on how determined the enemy happens to be on that day.
It was about retrieving the enemy documents as much as it was saving the 16 men.

At the 2:47 mark the helicopters shown were CH-47, but the verbal was saying, "CH-53s."
Skyraiders need their own video.
The helicopters were NOT CH-53s Sea Stallions. They look more like Chinooks.
You assume the stock video is accurate to the story…
CH=46 Sea Knight (Boeing) operated by USMC. CH-47 Chinook same profile, much larger operated by US Army.
File footage, they showed Huey’s also.
CH-46

51 caliber?
Yes, 51 Caliber. They could take the US 50 cal ammo and use it in their guns, but we could not use their 51 cal in our 50 cal guns.
Yep, Russian made
Russian 12.7mm DShK ammo.
I would say that’s fairly proportional
The Bengahzi B wouldn't even send an m16 to help prevent a massacre.

When you work with stock war footage you only have so much to work with.
Outstanding
I like your channel, but I often cringe from your lack of accuracy (and mispronunciations where Nam is concerned).
So, were they trapped in Vietnam or in Laos? Details matter.
It was Laos. A secret operation "climbing the fence"
The narrator said " Laos " more than once. Pay A-fuc%-ing attention.
