Evan Christopher - Letter from the Porch

Clarinetist Evan Christopher first arrived in New Orleans in 1994 after university studies in his native Southern California. For Evan, New Orleans and its musical heritage marks the starting point of his “Clarinet Road“ journey. The personal style he has developed combines virtuosity with an enthusiastic commitment to exploring the full range of possibilities for the New Orleans clarinet tradition.
Although the global health crisis has severely curtailed his once active touring and live performance schedule, Evan remains active as a recording artist and advocate for the New Orleans cultural community and music education. His website ClarinetRoad.com has resources for historically informed mentoring and he performs a weekly live show with pianist David Torkanowsky.
