I'm most excited for Joker 2 (probably even more so than Superman) because I think we're in for a real treat. I respect when filmmakers take risks & try something totally outside of the box, & I really think this will pay off. It appears that this is a truly visionary piece, even being derived from an actual dream. The idea of approaching the 'musical' aspects of a film as something way less rigid & much more malleable & abstract, should allow for a sense of freedom & unpredictability that will make this imagining of Joker & Harley extremely special. We get to be the 3rd wheel in their Folie a Deux or shared psychosis. Cannot wait for this movie! *Bet the soundtrack absolutely slays too!

The hall of justice was probably used by the JSA decades before Lord was even born. As for checkmate and Lords run as a more villainous character; it seems like Gunn will stay away from that interpretation of the character, even though it was the most popular and well received version. But who knows? He might build up to it slowly, over time, as you said. Wouldn't be the first time that he's thrown us for a loop with his tweets.
Is it possible that Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho could be changed in this film and be the actual main villain of the movie besides Lex? Maybe Lex runs experiments and actually makes Metamorpho and he's the one who's actually underneath that black suit with that mysterious Ultraman "U"?

That is certainly one way of interpreting it, though I seriously doubt the first DCU movie will involve time travel or the multiverse in any capacity. More likely than not, she just meant to say "this point in the timeline" but said "this timeline" instead. Think of the DCU as one singular timeline and this being one of the very first events taking place within it.
As I said when the first Joker 2 trailer came out I feel like Harley is going to be the one manipulating Joker because she seems to just want power and the craziness while he seemingly wants to be free to be himself and not be oppressed. Especially because in the trailer somehow she is out of prison at one point able to put a smile on the glass while he is still in maybe she gets released early and breaks him out but in the end I feel like the movie is going to end with him dead from her setting him up in some way.
Disney needs to prove that they are listening to the fans. The usual response when a new Star Wars project is getting hate isn't to actually see what the majority of ppl are complaining about but instead to hyper-fixate on the fringe element whining about DEI or whatever nonsense they're pedaling and then lambast the fandom as a whole saying we're all angry backwards bigots. I didn't hate the Acolyte, I just thought it was really poorly written and gave little to nothing for the actors to really work with. It had lots of plot holes, elements that were made to feel important but fell flat by the end, and focused on the wrong characters which served only to increase the division among the fanbase with their backstory. it was like the show writers decided they wanted to get as close as possible to breaking established lore without quite going over the edge just to see how many ppl they could piss off. And then, when ppl got pissed off, they turned the tables and said we were the worst, most toxic ppl alive. If they really want to build goodwill, they need to show that they are willing to listen. Start by getting rid of Kathleen Kennedy who has done nothing but make projects worse and then bring in creatives who actually give a damn about understanding the lore and worlds that the original movies created. And before anybody responds to this comment with some hate about me just disliking Mae and Osha, I found pretty much every other female character in that story to be interesting. Also I really like Leia, Padme, Mon Mothma, pretty much every woman in Andor, Ahsoka, Ventress, Fennec Shand, Bo Katan, etc etc. There are lots of really well-written, well-acted female characters in Star Wars. At the end of the day, I think Disney needs to listen and learn. See what the audience isn't responding too and then dive deeper into WHY we aren't responding to it. Don't jump to the conclusion that everyone's a bigot just for not liking a show with female leads (plenty of critics can be bigots but not every critic is a bigot). Anyway, I think that's what they need to do but I'm just one guy and don't know absolutely everything about anything.

The hall of justice was probably used by the JSA decades before Lord was even born. As for checkmate and Lords run as a more villainous character; it seems like Gunn will stay away from that interpretation of the character, even though it was the most popular and well received version.

That is certainly one way of interpreting it, though I seriously doubt the first DCU movie will involve time travel or the multiverse in any capacity.
More likely than not, she just meant to say "this point in the timeline" but said "this timeline" instead. Think of the DCU as one singular timeline and this being one of the very first events taking place within it.

As I said when the first Joker 2 trailer came out I feel like Harley is going to be the one manipulating Joker because she seems to just want power and the craziness while he seemingly wants to be free to be himself and not be oppressed. Especially because in the trailer somehow she is out of prison at one point able to put a smile on the glass while he is still in maybe she gets released early and breaks him out but in the end I feel like the movie is going to end with him dead from her setting him up in some way.

Disney needs to prove that they are listening to the fans. The usual response when a new Star Wars project is getting hate isn't to actually see what the majority of ppl are complaining about but instead to hyper-fixate on the fringe element whining about DEI or whatever nonsense they're pedaling and then lambast the fandom as a whole saying we're all angry backwards bigots. I didn't hate the Acolyte, I just thought it was really poorly written and gave little to nothing for the actors to really work with. It had lots of plot holes, elements that were made to feel important but fell flat by the end, and focused on the wrong characters which served only to increase the division among the fanbase with their backstory. it was like the show writers decided they wanted to get as close as possible to breaking established lore without quite going over the edge just to see how many ppl they could piss off. And then, when ppl got pissed off, they turned the tables and said we were the worst, most toxic ppl alive. If they really want to build goodwill, they need to show that they are willing to listen. Start by getting rid of Kathleen Kennedy who has done nothing but make projects worse and then bring in creatives who actually give a damn about understanding the lore and worlds that the original movies created. And before anybody responds to this comment with some hate about me just disliking Mae and Osha, I found pretty much every other female character in that story to be interesting. Also I really like Leia, Padme, Mon Mothma, pretty much every woman in Andor, Ahsoka, Ventress, Fennec Shand, Bo Katan, etc etc. There are lots of really well-written, well-acted female characters in Star Wars.
At the end of the day, I think Disney needs to listen and learn. See what the audience isn't responding too and then dive deeper into WHY we aren't responding to it. Don't jump to the conclusion that everyone's a bigot just for not liking a show with female leads (plenty of critics can be bigots but not every critic is a bigot). Anyway, I think that's what they need to do but I'm just one guy and don't know absolutely everything about anything.
