I love simple outfits. Top and bottom and sometimes a completer piece. If the weather allows. Don’t want to look too contrived. I think your style is very close to mine. It was really amazing the advice you gave to wear a piece of clothing all day if you are unsure of it. That has helped me. I’ve bought clothing to copy an influencer and sometimes that was a big mistake. I’m all about banana republic and loft and jcrew and gap and some old navy. I need tall size bottoms so that limits me a little.
My go to formula is blue denim with a shirt or blouse in summer and blue denim with a sweater or cardigan sweater in winter. For shoes I go with sandals en sneakers in spring and summer and for ankle- or lace up boots in winter. I love color, so I add that in my tops mostly. Or in my jewellery.
I have very few dresses. Like 8. No skirts. Just too much effort to figure out an outfit with a skirt for me. If I can find a dress I love I’m thrilled.
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. Purple is my favorite color however there's not a lot of purple clothing that I actually like. So, my eye glasses are always purple. I don't buy outfits, only pieces to mix and match with other pieces I already own. However, I have been moving towards wearing dresses. One and done clothing options. It makes getting dressed really easy.
You are so welcome! I love your comment. Purple glasses are a perfect way to incorporate the color you love in a statement way! And dresses... yes! The one and done factor is super enticing. Thanks for watching. 🥰
I am 100% on board with the uniform approach. It seemed to happen on its own for me. I'd pull black Spanx leggings, black boots/booties and a sweater all winter. I have several varieties of the leggings and boots and I'd rotate sweaters frequently. It works. Same for summer but not as limited because of weather. I do shorts and a top or a casual dress all summer long. I buy a few colors of the ones I love and rotate with my bags and shoes. It's easy and freeing. I'm also team undone. I'm that way with everything from my home, my haircut, you name it. I think it's my personality and I'm drawn to things that feel more organic but imperfect. To me, there's such beauty in the imperfections. I will say that I'm not one who wants to look like any certain person (style icon) or culture. I shy away from the idea that others do it better and I don't mean to imply that that's what you're saying at all! I love expressing my own personality through clothes, accessories, my home and it's all a wonderful creative outlet. xx
Hi! New subscriber here! I am finally at the point where I’ve found out my colors but the last time I went to look at any clothes, I got totally confused as to where I was supposed to have the color😅. This video has really helped me out to fit it into my tops. I feel that is where I really like the color. The rest is not so important to me lol. I am also into scarves of all sizes and textures. So I think that will be my main focus as well! Thank you for this video! 🌸
Hello! Thanks for subscribing. Welcome! I'm so glad you found this helpful. When I want to add color, I usually opt to add it in my tops also. Please let me know if there are any topics you'd like me to address in future videos. Thank you for watching. 🥰
Thank you so much for this video... you taught me so much!! I'm the layering person ... plain underneath, building up with layers & large more jewelery....
Hi Kristen. I am rewatching all your videos and this one is resonating with me now. I think I would like to explore capsule wardrobe / uniform idea. Keep it simple and build my style muscle from there! The real question is whether I am able to actually part with items that didn’t make the cut. Most of them anyway. No “keep if for now just in case” I feel this is what stops my progress. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Hi K- I love how much you are working on your wardrobe and how much you've learned over the past months. Great work! I have lots of thoughts. Great question! I'm going to answer it on next week's IG live. And we'll chat about this tomorrow on our coaching call. 💖
Love this video! What do I do if I decided to have a closet full of variety in ALL seven areas? 🤪 Seriously tho, great tips, I will be trying them out right away.
Thanks! I'd start with one area and go from there. It can be overwhelming at the beginning... stick with it and you'll likely begin to see some favorite formulas emerge. 💕
I have just watched two other videos you have, and in both of them you happen to be wearing royal blue. Imo, that color is dynamite on you! I opened this video and saw you in this paler color----it's not terrible on you, but it doesn't "pop" like the saturated blue. Just fwiw. (I think the old "color me beautiful" program would've called you a summer, maybe? Not sure.) I appreciate your thoughtful videos!
Thanks for your thoughts. I'm usually wearing some shade of blue!! 💙 I haven't ever had my colors done, and likely won't. I tend to wear what 'feels' best to me on any given day. Thanks for being here! 🥰

I'm glad you've found that trick useful! It really does help to get to know a piece better when you wear it for a full day.

Sounds great! A formula you love makes it SO easy to get dressed!!
Appreciated your very clear, specific examples of how/where to start--thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for your comment. Good luck! 🧡

You are brilliant and your desire to help women is authentic. Very impressive. Thank you.

Changing top half always makes the outfit look different to me.... especially because we spend so much time sitting across from others
I wish I could wear jumpsuits or more dresses. But just don’t work for me and my proportions.
