I am in 2nd prof mbbs And ragging is still in our clg. It inc- Slapping juniors Abusing them Apne saare personal kaam krvana Arranging alcohol and ganja for them even at mid night... Etc. A day before i was in our clg canteen at 11 pm with my 2 friends just baat kr rhe the while having chai. 3 seniors (intern)came towards us We wished them good eve... But they started abusing coz we didn't knew their names... Only for this they started doing it.. I am a short tempered guy I reacted to not to abuse Then they got angry and did it again n again... I warned them not to do otherwise they would a bad fight today.. Then a friend of mine said sorry to them... Intern told him to take away me from their... Coz they were not able to do it on their own... I again reacted saying its not your property Isi chair p baithunga dekhta hoon kon uthata hai ab... Then interns were shut... After 5 or 10 min when i was feeling normal i went back to my room... Then due to this my whole batch next night faced a short ragging except me.. Even in 2nd prof.. Anyways this was just a experience of mine.. And many things happen worse than this... And this will continue due to these morons..
Why didn't you complain about this to the authorities? If you have that much courage to blatantly tell them that they don't own that chair, so you would sit right there, why not show the same amount of courage and report them?

But still considering your point 1) i thought complaining to higher authority might show i am weak and can't handle it on my own... 2)there was no audio or video proof.. If they would be called...they would deny it..
Prince Bhai you should take steps to stop such incidents. You yourself is a professor. So, you should start an initiative against Ragging. You are quite rich and influential. So, you could take a step😢
I don't understand why the college's name wasn't mentioned and the ragging part was kept discret so that the students and the college's name don't be maligned...but i would say in this way ragging was more encouraged as they haven't been punished for their deeds... Moreover freshers should go and complains if they're being ragged... by staying quiet they're encouraging those dimwit to do more....

Those who are first year student and facing ragging by their senior's in hostel just do one thing keep the local police station number with you. Remember ragging is strictly prohibited in the college campuses. Don't allow any one to disrespect you.
