      I think just just wait for then to grow a bit bigger, making it easier to separate as they can tell their differences better.

    How can you tell which fish have deformities when they’re so small?

      @@goofusdoobus2179 Cull them out of other perfectly formed fish of course. If you have fries in your tank, deformities are common in bunches where they are placed in wide surfaced water columns separately. This is a fast way to differentiate between bad fries and ideal ones.
      For ranchus, fries from day 1-10 can be deformed when the followings are explained. Bent spines, single tail, dorsal fin spike, asymmetric body/tail/finnage, and missing body types. From day 10-39, you see more specific problems as you go on, like bumpy back, unarched back, crooked tail angle, and fused double tail.
      Day 39 to 60 you can see most goldfish developed more perfect appearance because you separate the culls that are already been separated to induce attention towards fish of perfect form. This is easy at the beginning but overtime it will take lengthy number of time, and even if you research or study by experience, oftenly the best for this is serious professionalism as you act carefully.

      @@goofusdoobus2179 cull a nicer way to say kill. When we produce something in surplus, we kill, reason why I could never go in to breeding and actually don't like this at all. It is fascinating to watch, but just not for everyone.

    at the inital week of birth, how much BBS do you feed per time? and how much water do u change on a daily basis?
    i once had thousands of baby fry.. but i dont know what i did wrong, they didnt survive.. a few tips would be great.

      I feed them BBS 3-4 times a day and change the water 30% a day. Make sure the water in your tank and the new water that your adding has the same temperature

    My 2 year old ranchus doesn't grow round like that though they are getting bigger but not rounder maybe because mine are rejected ones so the breeder knows they will not grow normally?

      He most likey kills them himself or feeds them to something, edit: I read somewhere else that he gave them to a friend, at least a few might survive.

    I'm not even a crazy animal activist, but its just sad that humans usually have to trim the wen most of the time and these guys can't survive outside of the living room tank

      Trimming wen is very important tho if not trimmed it can cause extra weight so it will have trouble swimming so the much harder to get food this is natural ur needs to be done even when it's painful seeing goldfish getting trimmed

    Cuales son los defectos que se les nota,cuando nacen? Se puede hacer los mismo con los goldfish regulares? Como uno sabe cual es la hembra y cual es el macho? Gracias
