- Such an exciting journey to move through the Sundarban forest in ship, To be honest animal visibility was low during this journey but i enjoyed lot of food on the ship together with freshness of the air.

We got our tickets done from West Bengal tourism, ticket cost summary below. We did the journey in AC section.
1 Night 2 Days Tour
AC Berth Rs 6,050/ person + GST
Non AC Berth Rs 4,730/ person +GST
All costs included in the above fare, like bus, food, guide, etc.
Journey starts from Kolkata and ends in Kolkata.
You may also want to do a 2 night and 3 day tour on ship, they have option for that as well.
If you are planning to travel with government you need to book in advance, plus journey dates are pre fixed.
In case Govt reservations are full for Sundarban Safari. Then you can take Private Boats too for Sundarban Safari.
The charges for Private Boats can be approx Rs. 6,000 to 7,000 per person.
They also offer full day tour too. I don’t have any details to share with you but these are estimates that i got from few people.
Note: According to Govt rules small boats are not allowed for tour purpose plus it is not safe also.
You can do booking of the trip in advance through the below website and also connect with tourism office over phone for more information in this regard.

P.S: You can’t get down to the forest area and do any safari there like there is no jeep safari or Elephant safari. Only way you travel to Sundarbans is by ship or large size boat….
Note: If you can carry Binoculars along you will enjoy this journey more.
During April to Aug - West Bengal tourism does not operate ship tours to Sunderbans as it is hot and humid.

I have been to Sundarbans once. During that trip, my guide told me that it was his 213th trip. During all those trips, he saw tiger just 6 times. So you can imagine how lucky one will have to be to physically see a royal bengal tiger. As you rightly said, majority of Sundarbans is in Bangladesh and therefore, tiger visibility there is high...but then that part is also more dense....so its riskier as well!

We visited Sundarban Islands during 1st week of January, 2018 from Jharkali side. Stayed 1 night at Sundarban resort & next day engaged 8 hrs day trip by private motor boat & went around Sundarban Islands.. After watching your video, I recollected all my old memorises. Enjoyed yummy & tasty food at Kolkata city also.

Would have been icing on cake if any Royal Bengal Tiger was spotted. Though one can see in few zoos across India, but to see one in natural habitat is priceless.

Very nicely done by West Bengal tourism.In previous videos,I did criticize their infrastructure, poverty and transportation.But they done pretty nicely with the this tour ride
Kolkata today has some of the best infrastructure, transport and if you compare poverty...it is much below what you see in Chennai and Mumbai. I have travelled and lived across cities in India and currentlly live in Mumbai. Kolkata lacks in industrialization and nothing else....What media sitting in Delhi shows you is what you get to see. Unfortunately for past 20-25 years Delhi centric media has shown Kolkata in bad lights. But when you travel you get to see the real thing.

I visited Sunderbans from Bangladesh, it was a amazing trip, 2 nights and 3 days in ship which leaves from Khulna, ship was quite big and luxurious with fabulous deck, ship goes inside Bay of Bengal, scene is awesome.
We saw adult and baby tiger pug marks in sand when we went to beach also wild boats and deers.. It's once i a life time trip, very memorable..

This is my point of view and by the way your narration and communication skill are amazing. Its hard for a minority of people to communicate with strangers but you do it amazingly. Keep roaming..

sunderban is one of the most beautiful places i have visited.. mother nature at its best.. and to be honest.. the cooks on the ships are so good.. they make superb food.. i was fortunate enough to spot the back of a tiger sitting behind a tree log far away from one of the watch towers.. you made an awesome video.. i re lived my sunderban travel moments with this video.. :)
