Idom is extremely dishonest with his comments. Literally said the Ken should just drive rush jab more because that is sf6. Yet every time he did it momochi was not mixed and it didn’t work. Yet idom said he needs to do it more when the guy had 2 bars of meter left and it didn’t work the last 6 times. Either idom is dumb, blinded by his hate for the games mechanics, or is just intellectually dishonest. I think he reads the game from how he sees ranked play out and projects it onto the mind games that happen at the highest level. Not sure why he’s doing it. What he’s saying clearly is not how the game is working in these games he’s calling. It doesn’t make sense how someone can be so good at fighting games and purely projecting. Maybe he just likes complaining even in the face of the facts that are disproving it?
You are also only watching clips and not his commentary on the full set. Just because drive rush jab didn't work in those few clips doesn't mean it isn't a really strong option at any level in the game. You see lots of top players abusing it and if your character has a good drive rush you should be using it.

I mean, it's ironic that iDom is stating that |neutral is a dying art", when in reality it would be a benefit to his playstyle. For example, the peak of iDom's career was utilizing the v-trigger mechanic in SFV to left-right mixup his opponents and command dash behind Laura's slow-ass electricity fireball. iDom wasn't winning because of his neutral, he was winning due to his ability of capitalizing on the oki/guess-on-block situation. iDom was fireball command dashing before fireball-drive rush was a thing lmaooo. Also, when it came to playing against actually strong neutral game players, like Punk - iDom would usually crack and that is why he would use Poison to counter pick - since she was a pseudo Dhalsim.

I wanted the discussion limited to SF6 and encouraged him to play a different character in case I was wrong. But yes, iDom FULLY abused the Laura Electricity + dash + mixup... aka fireball + DR. The very thing he hates in SF6. Must suck to be on the other end of that schtick. Oh well. CC is gonna be interesting content for iDom.
Ed lvl 2 combos are boring and uninteresting af, no matter how optimal or "dream" they are. He'd be so much cooler if that wasn't such a cornerstone of his gameplan.
