- Upon arriving in the Free State town of Fouriesburg, we were filled with excitement, and rightfully so. The town welcomed us with its picturesque charm, boasting beautiful old sandstone buildings adorned with quaint restaurants and hospitable locals. Our exploration led us to notable landmarks like the Dutch Reformed Church and the historic Fouriesburg Country Inn, each adding to the town's allure. However, the highlight of our visit was stumbling upon the Meiringskloof Nature Park, where chalets and camping sites were nestled amidst stunning natural surroundings. Our experience in Fouriesburg left a lasting impression, truly showcasing the town's captivating beauty and hospitality. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #travelongravel #Fouriesburg #freestate

Meiringskloof was stunning
Oh I just can't resist it " I LOVE IT"
Kudos to the town council and municipality for maintaining their town in the impeccable condition it is presented in. They must take immense pride in all they do to showcase an organised and litter-free place they call home. As do the inhabitants! I would think the potholes that have been filled has been funded by the ratepayers. Beautiful stone church you managed to visit the interior of, with the organist at full steam as well! The fire engine (circa 1970 and still in working condition!!!!!) was a nice surprise. The country inn, steakhouse and Meiringskloof are all worthy of a visit I think. I am well impressed with Fouriesburg and have added it to my "Must Visit" bucket list, perhaps en route to Lesotho. Awesome find. Thank you.
You can see the town is proud of itself. Everything is so well cared for and clean and I am sure if they had the money they would fix their own roads too.
This town surprised me. Meiringskloof another great find. I'm putting it on my list to visit. Neat and clean as Sonia noted. Whsts not to love about this quaint quiet town with its low walls. Thanks again for holding my seat. Love you guys ❤🎉❤
We absolutely loved everything about Fouriesburg! I'm glad you did too! 🚙😍

Ek is uiters dankbaar, baie dankie vriende. Ons Here is altyd saam met jou.
Hi guys another free state gem the town was so clean and tidy beautiful sandstone buildings plenty of hotels it seems to me quite a affluent town with manicured gardens the country Inn had a atmosphere of bygone days very elegant ( with a ladies bar aswell) .Sonia summed it up perfectly specially 👌 so lucky that the organist was playing. Curtis you always find something different vintage fire engine and able to get inside!!! .again a Hugeunot connection. What can I say about the caravan park I bet campers from all over the world would love to go there mountains lush vegetation and amazing walks. Amazing video thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one
Fouriesburg tourism thrives mostly because its near Clarens which is also tourism attraction... and also because of the people working in Lesotho mines and dams in the Highlands... anyway thanx again for the great video🙏
Hi you two! Thank you for taking me on this wonderful trip. This beautiful town lacks nothing! From a the old stone church (with live organ music!) to the stunning Nature Park, bars and an old inn. Wonderful ! The quiet tree-lined streets with stone buildings also touched my heart. I'm ready for the next trip.
Keep safe inn the windy Strand!
We have visited and we love ❤️ it
Great video and makes my list of favourite visits. Awesome to hear the organist playing in such a beautiful church. Buildings are just amazing and my admiration to the people who have restored them and are caring for these establishments.
Great video of a lovely town. I am looking forward to the next town which must be Clarens.
I love Fouriesburg. I went there with my parents a few years, ago and we stayed in the most amazing accommodation. Our outlook was the mountain. The Church is so beautiful. I think Fouriesburg was a Kwêla town of the year one year. I hope you are going to Clarens now. Golden Gate is awesome too. You will love it. Thank you for the lovely visit down memory lane foe me.
Hi Curtis Sonia and Dusty, I may have mentioned it previously but I shall say it again, I'm loving the Free State.❤ travels 🥾
Hi Sonja and Curtis. From the old fire truck, to the beautiful trees, friendly people, lovely blue
skies, that church. Thanks you so much for taking us along with you. Look forward to the next town.❤
Quite bigger than i thought it would be. Love the sandstone buildings. The hotel is indeed stunning. Survived the test of time. Real quiet and clean town. That gives it so much charater. Nice steak house. So much on offer there. All in all a very nice town. Thank you for showing us this town. Next one i am there

Mercedes 1113 truck......late 60's, early 70's
During the late 70's and early 80's I had a farm just outside Fouriesburg on the Clarens road.
Lovely...
I knew a lot of Fourie's in Namibia. Good gang. Love the verdant area, town, and the mountain ranges in the Orange Free State. I'll never call it otherwise. Hey, send that guy back to driving school! 😂😊 Saw the Willie's Jeep. I live in the US County, where they originate (Butler).
Thanks to you two again .... this is one of my favorite dorpies & nice people ! Had a steak at the Windmill restaurant / Pub & Grill , the steak was on the small side & had a "Blue Cheese sauce which turned out to be a bottled Salad Dressing !!! .... they did not understand my complaint & said that's how they do it !!! ..... anyway the pub was interesting with nice folk there & leka conversation with some of the locals...... hope you got to a place called " Surrender Hill" on the way to Clarens from there ( Interesting History ! )
Malutibergreeks by Fouriesburg in Lesotho, wes is Witteberg en noord is Rooiberg. Clarens en Fouriesburg is binne die Brandwaterkom
If I recall what my Ouma said, the town hall was like a commons building , which served as a school and had other communal purposes too for some time . She went there at one stage in here early child hood , 1920's about . They had family all along the Lesotho boarder , up to a place called Hobhouse . During the second Boer war , her dad or granddad, not sure. had a few schemes in and around Fouriersburg , one was to have his farmstall designated a school and he ran a boarding school for "illegitimate" children , this way he was paid well to keep secrets , also got the state to sponsor him "school" supplies . I know my ouma had a chuckle about how he used the horses the state would give him , intended to transport children , to do work for him on the farm .
Thank you for sharing that interesting info. 👌🏻 We visited Hobhouse too on this trip. You can check out Episode 460 if you like. 🚙😁
How was the road from Ficksburg to Fouriesburg? It was wrecked when we visited Sandstone Estate in 2022. I mean wrecked.
It had potholes in places, but we didn't find it that bad. It certainly does sound like there's been some improvement since you last travelled there. 🚙🛣️
Please take me with you please 🎉
It is a pity you did not visit Destiny Castle on the mountain just outside Fouriesburg
Thank you for watching our video of our visit to Fouriesburg. 🚙😁 I find it so interesting that you would only comment on what we didn't see, but not a single thing we did see. We choose to see our travels differently.
The Town Hall is impressive for this small charming town. The nature reserve was outstandingly beautiful!
Beautiful churches and the Country Inn was interesting!
