    Good video Sir. Just bought a 2017 Explorer sport with the 3.5 eco and need to change the oil. Looks simple enough. Thanks!

      There isn't anything special about the turbos. I would just say all the same rules of turbos apply. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Nice video, and even though you blurred out the license plate, I can tell it's Utah plates! I also live in Utah.

    Dear Ecoboost owners- your ecoboost begs you for 91-93 octane fuel AND FULL SYNTHETIC oils (engine, trans, PTU, rear diff). For engine oil, choose an API SP-rated (I use NAPA, and their Gold oil filter). Why? Because your timing chain (and water pump) is bound to fail. SP oil helps protect better than SN or SN Plus. Full synthetic also has a much much higher flash point than dino or synthetic blend!

    Just bought a 2017 ford explore sport 3 months ago I really love it but couple weeks ago I noticed that white smoke is coming from the muffler can someone help me please 🙏

      It could be the PCV valve, head gasket or more serous engine problems. The PCV valves are known to be problematic on the Explorer Sports. Hopefully it is the PCV valve as that is the least expensive to fix out of the 3 likely possible causes.

      Omg!!! Hope it's the pvc valve I have research everywhere and it seem to be the pvc valve.. I hope so

      Mine had blueish smoke coming from exhaust there is an updated pvc valve that you need to replace. After I changed mine out it quit smoking.

      Did you figure this out? It was your turbo right? Mine were replaced by ford under warranty at 52K

    What is that dial to the left of the instrument panel when you’re resetting the oil life meter?

    Nice video. How many miles do you usually run the oil, if you use the Oil Life Monitor, what %?

    • @andysgarageadventures8043
      @andysgarageadventures8043 3 года назад +1

      I recommend changing the oil every 4000 miles. At 4k, oil life will typically be at 40%.

    • @user-cx4xi2xm1k
      @user-cx4xi2xm1k 2 года назад +1

      4000 miles means 6400 kilometers. I think the oil life ratio at that time will be 60 or 59%.

    Isn't more easy take it to a place where they change oil? Or is more cheaper to do it by ourselves?

    • @andysgarageadventures8043
      @andysgarageadventures8043 3 года назад +1

      I advise people along these lines. It will be cheaper to do it yourself, so which do you have more of, money or time? The second consideration is who cares more about your car, you or the person working on it. Generally, that is the car owner. I'm continually amazed by the problems bad mechanics cause. Often all that was needed was an extra 5 minutes of TLC, and the car owner would have saved hundreds of dollars down the road.

      It is an Air Deflector, but on the Ford Parts website, it is listed as a cover: parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/engine/other-engine-parts/cover-7848755-1. Thanks for watching!

    Is MotorCraft better than Mobil?
    Which would you recommend? Thanks.

    • @andysgarageadventures8043
      @andysgarageadventures8043 3 года назад

      Mobil is really good quality oil. Nothing wrong with using it vs. Motorcraft. Just make sure you use the synthetic blend or full synthetic. Do not use conventional oil in an Ecoboost engine. Thanks for watching!
